Osaka Travel Guide | HQ Fireworks Display with 10 thousand Shots, Night Market Games

Hello everyone! Today, we’re heading to the Ikeda Hanabi Taikai, a spectacular fireworks festival in Osaka, Japan.

Our destination is Ikeda City, located north of Osaka. To get there, we’ll take the Takarazuka Main Line from Osaka’s Umeda Station. The train ticket costs 280 yen (approximately 2 US dollars), and the best part is, there’s no admission fee for the fireworks festival. We’re starting our journey at 5 PM, and it’ll take us about 30 minutes to reach Ikeda Station.

As we arrive at Ikeda Station, we notice the crowd growing larger and larger. This train line is filled with people dressed in Yukata, a traditional Japanese attire commonly worn during summer festivals and at hot spring resorts. The sound of TATA is the clacking of wooden clogs, which is often paired with Yukata. Unfortunately, we didn’t bring our own Yukata this time, but if you ever visit Japan during a summer festival, be sure to experience it!

We’re getting closer to the fireworks venue—it’s just across the river! The riverbank is lined with night market stalls, creating a lively atmosphere. Finally, we’ve arrived, and the weather is scorching hot! The place is bustling with tourists, and there are long queues at every food stall. We decide to refuel with some grilled steak for dinner.

Children are having a blast playing the goldfish scooping game, and there are plenty of adults enjoying it too! Some people are trying their luck at the pinball machines. You must be a fan of those if you’re from the United States!

Everyone has brought picnic blankets, and the sun is starting to set. The fireworks show begins at 7:20 PM, and the countdown has started! We’re so excited! Join us in savoring this wonderful evening together as we enjoy the mesmerizing fireworks display.
