My first time meeting a kangaroo | GOLD COAST, Australia (vlog 2)

Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, is world famous for the picture-perfect golden beaches, where surfers ride the waves and sun-seekers bask in the warmth of the sun. But there’s more to this coastal paradise than meets the eye. In this video, we go all the way south to Currumbin, where we spend the day discovering native Australian animals like kangaroos, wallabies, koala bears, and even the Tasmanian devil! We rent bikes for the way back and stop at some of the most sought-after locations in the Gold Coast, like Burleigh Heads and Miami Marketta.

Gold Coast is a short train ride away from Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland. Brisbane is the host of the 2032 Olympics.

► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world… stuff that, for so long, I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American, and he’s actually camera-shy. That’s why he’s behind the camera most of the time 😉

  6. I was at the Currumbin Wildlife Park in 2016 and the Aborigine performer's where the same as in your video Renata, thanks for reminding me what a lovely place Burleigh Heads is! Do check out Mt Tambourine and the Rainforest Skywalk if you ever return to the GC

  7. The council should pay you for tourism ads because this guy here is going to visit GC next month after watching the video. 🎉🎉🎉🎉

  8. Hey Gordon. Wombat is a term we use in Australia for blokes who play around. This is in reference to a wombats diet. “Eats roots, shoots and leaves”. Love your channel and have been watching since way before Covid so missed you guys during that time even though you put some stuff out. I heard Renata at a Women’s World Cup press conference and felt like I knew her. All the best to you both.

  9. What could be better way to end the weekend with a video from Renata?
Fingers crossed. I'll be going down under x-mas/new years 24/25.
These vids give a lot of inspiration on what to do.
    Thanks Renata!

  10. You can actually go and do the bird feeding for free in the mornings. Every morning thousands of wild lorikeets come there to get fed. You can get a plate of food for $1 and the bird will land on you to eat it.
