This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that’s the way I like it!

  1. @virginaustralia this video has me wondering if it’s worth trying to maintain my gold velocity status. Virgin business class to Denpasar is embarrassing in comparison.

  2. Just, after my shock, out of curiosity, if you wouldn't have researched, would you have expected a real coffee mug and 3 breakfast choices from a menu??? (I also wouldn't have expected IFE or an Amenity Kit btw but wasn't too sure for their premium cabin) So impressed!

  3. cool flight! (will definitely choose this over scoot when flying to mel next time haha)
also look forward to your Cathay Pacific videos, Kevin!!

  4. Great Video! As an Australian, I am happy to answer your question, and I am always fascinated by Alaskan airlines and the Eskimo as their emblem! I have seen their planes at SFO. As a Melburnian, we don’t have Nauru airlines here. In fact, I think they only fly to Brisbane..

  5. I didnt see you using that black tote bag whilst walking/lounging on the "pristine beach" at Jumeirah Bali, could be l missed it amongst all the washed up bottles, flip flops and garbage 🤷‍♀️

  6. Always loved Jetstar, they're a VERY good source of QF points and status credits … I've been lucky enough to have avoided their shenanigans but the horror stories make for some amazing news. Jetstar was mainly short haul until their long haul fleet was actually established with a small fleet of A330s. The 787s came waaaay later. PTV in YCL is paid for, otherwise you'll just get the flight map feature. I've also noticed the crew on JQ long haul is different from the short haul domestic. They're a mix from different bases around Australia, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand. Especially the international bases, service levels tend to be a tad above the Aussie based crew. QF has always been under fire for milking their staff and using overseas crew where they can help it. There was a story of Bangkok based JQ crew doing Bangkok – Sydney – Honolulu vv flights and they were paid so little they could not afford to eat in layovers. The latest QF AKL JFK flights are crewed by NZ based crew, once again, are contracted by Jet Connect and paid a lot less than the standard QF long haul crew. Aussies absolutely love to bag JQ and curse about them, but hey… No one's saying no to the next $99 fare towards their next holiday. JQ is cheaper and gives us more points compared to QF. That's why I'll never ever pay to fly QF. Cheers…

  7. As an av geek Miami is a wonderful place. Seeing a previous TAM 777 was a highlight. An Iberia A350 flew to Sydney to collect the Spanish FIFA women’s final winners. First ever visit. 🎉

  8. Another great video Kevin.
One observation – why don’t you post chronologically so this video before the Jumeriah Bali hotel video?

  9. Hi, Kevin. Another great review. I would only fly Jetstar if they were the only airline flying to where I wanted to go. Back in 2020 when the pandemic struck and New Zealand closed its borders less than a week before I was due to fly from Melbourne to Queenstown, the only compensation they offered me was a voucher valid for six months. I asked if I could transfer this to my brother who lives in Brisbane. All I got was a vert curt No. Nothing else leaving me out of pocket. Air New Zealand and Virgin Australia gave me full refunds. So , no I don't rate Jetstar at all. Keep 7p the good work. Love your reviews❤.

  10. Another great video. I always mentally expect a “business class seat” to be lie down now, but hearing you say this is cheaper than Quanta’s economy really sold me.

  11. Hey question…. How long usually does it take u to finish editing one flight video, and how long for one hotel video? Not including filming, but just Roughly…for editing from start to finish only + script writing + voice recording… Curious to know how much time u put in per video. Ur videos r so consistent and of great quality., so just curious

  12. As an Aussie who travels through LAX, SFO, ORD and EWR it's the smaller airlines we never hear about in the southern hemisphere that catch my eye (Allegiant, FrenchBee, La Compagnie, Norse, Sun Country) or the more well-known international airlines I've never seen in our half of the globe (Aeroflot, Condor, Ethiopian).

Great trip report by the way, Kevin. Really enjoying your channel!

  13. My hometown! I'm pleased you enjoyed Brisbane Airport and your Jetstar flight to Bali. We did the same flight in 2018 in economy, in the mini cabin just behind Business. While Jetstar is probably my last choice of airline, I've never experienced any problems on their flights. Jetstar's 787 is a no brainer on this route as Virgin and various Indonesian airlines operate 737's. Looking forward to your Australian airlines series next year.

  14. Hearing from Australian friends Jetstar is never 1st choice because of many issues like delays and cancellations etc

  15. I share your opinion on how friendly, comfortable and uneventful Jetstar can be. After reading and hearing so many negative stories, our flight from DPS to PER turned out to be solid. Booked now with Virgin Australia from Bali to Queenstown, wonder how that will fair…. So much exciting content coming, I will buckling up for the next ride! Thank you for always providing us with great information 🙏🏼

  16. Great video, thanks. I've always avoided Jetstar domestically as they've been nothing but trouble & have not had much luck in "business" btw mel-bkk… They change planes and is ooops sorry only economy seats on this flight… But Qantas does that too… Family traits..🙄

  17. Not an Aussie or a frequent traveler to USA, but I love the subject of exotic airlines, especially when it's about international foreign carriers. I think that there are still surprises if you check your local airport's airline roster that give off that same effect you're talking about.

I had that double take moment when I saw an Ethiopian Airlines jet on approach to Jakarta, that came from Bangkok. When looking up about it by searching what airlines currently serve CGK, I discovered something even more insane for me, that there currently exists a non-stop service from Tashkent to Jakarta with Uzbekistan Airways. And that Josh Cahill covered this route in an pre-pandemic video. It's entertaining to watch.

  18. I think Jetstar domestic have improved significantly in the last few months. I used to fly them years ago and was sometimes disappointed, gave up on them for awhile, then gave them a go again recently and was impressed. They are clearly making a concerted effort now and their CEO has recently said something to that effect too.

  19. I’m impressed. For a budget premium economy product to be so good and yet be cheaper than regular economy at a full service carrier is impressive!

  20. How did you “fare” with the taxi fares in australia haha.Other than that i would like to explain my flight on jetstar from singapore-melbourne.I had a 4h delay as usual, i was surprised that they had a ife, those extra fares were crazy though.Normal economy cant access most flims and movies….You need to pay, otherwise if you dont expect much its pretty good imo.

  21. When you said that LATAM airlines would be exotic to Australians un US, not Really because LATAM airlines flies to Sydney and Melbourne 😅 nice vid tho

  22. feels like you’re jsut super biased towards the price tag on whatever it is you’re experiencing. how can this jetstar flight be good and jumeriah be so trash? i thougut the opposite of both

  23. I've done business to Bali with Jetstar probably about 6 or 7 times. The flight itself is great, but Jetstar can be very hit and miss with extensive delays and randomly changing seat allocations. If nothing bad happens it's a great flight at a decent price….personally I'm not taking the risk anymore though and will be flying with Virgin Australia next time to Bali.

  24. OMG Kevin what's happening to FFT ratings bro… I call JQ BC, business crass. The 787 product is U/S. It used to be good in the A330 (most JQ staff will testify to that) I gave up on JQ BC from Cairns to Narita. I have done approximately 30 BC flights to Narita, Please JQ more space in the BC section, Sit in 57 F more room, service and, toilet access. I'm trying the Virgin BC on the 1st of Oct to Haneda hopefully that will be good. Cheers.

  25. Suck of crikey video😅… I was waiting for the Austrian’s jab😁… now I was surprised that havaianas were missing on this journey.
Great video as Always! Cheers from battered Central Florida

  26. For me it was FrenchBee, Allegiant, Norse, Ethiopian (Even tho I know about it) and SouthWest

  27. Chicken sausage is horrible and has no place in an aircraft premium cabin, even if it's on a Budget/LCC. The rest of the experience looks to be worth a look next time we're in Australia. The A320 – not so much.
