  1. Another awesome video, Kenchan. I was wondering if those taxi apps are available in less populated areas, such as Kawaguchiko?

  2. Thanks for the video. It was great! I've spent about 2.5 months in Tokyo over 12 trips to Japan and I'm still learning a lot from you. Your videos cover the little details that other YouTubers gloss over.

I think there is too much hassle using transit passes. To get the most benefit, you have to plan your trips around the system and I've found it's too inconvenient to do that. I use an IC card and just take whatever train or subway is most convenient and fastest.

I have one question. Instead of using a bike share, how about renting a bike for a day? I did it a couple of times and both times, I got very confused about parking it. I know there are parking lots, but I also see people leaving their bikes out on the street. Is that appropriate? I stopped renting bikes because I don't want to take the chance of it being confiscated because I parked it wrong.

    Thanks again for the video.

  3. thank you for the video.
i find the bicycle part most useful and the route you recommended was almost exactly the one i took from shintomicho area to toyosu market very early in the morning (5am). i saw a bicycle stop outside my tokyo hotel in dec 22. if i had seen your video then i would have known how to rent one and cycle to toyosu market from shintomicho area instead of having to walk all the way to the nearest bus stop and wait for the bus (and i had to stand in the bus too!)

  4. More like "fortunately" you don't have uber! Uber makes traffic much worse. Enjoy the trains and subway in Japan, the best in the world!

  5. I was scared to ride taxis because it didn’t seem like they didn’t take credit cards. I was not sure of the approximate final cost even though it showed the rate per distance. I thought it would take too much of my cash. I took a bus to TeamLab once on a rainy day. It was really crowded and I was worried about being able to get off at my stop. This is good information about transportation.

  6. So fun and helpful watching you try out everything Kengo san! I also like that Japan didn’t let Uber take over the industry in the way it has in some other countries 😎👍

  7. Really useful video, as always, Kenchan! Thank you very much. With IC cards not being available for purchase, the only options for tourists (as of today) are Welcome Suica and Pasmo Passport. From what I understand Welcome Suica is only available in airports at the moment and Pasmo Passport have a few more options around Tokyo. Highly recommend checking the websites before you fly so you can get some form of IC card for your travel.

  8. Hello Kenchan, great and informative video! I am really enjoyed this one and learnt a few tips and tricks along the way. Please keep going. Cheers

  9. Thank you for another great video ! Riding a bike sounds like a good idea in Tokyo as walking might be too much, because of long distances . I tried walking in Tokyo last time i was there, after a while i realized that my destination is too far and i was looking for a metro line 😀

  10. Thanks again for a great video. Would love to try out the bike rental service! I’m reading online though that you need a Japanese phone number for this. Is this true?

  11. I apologize the "Go" and "Docomo bicycle" don’t work with phone number outside Japan. For Taxi, please try other apps, and for bike share "Hello Cycling" and "Loop" worked with US phone number and US Credit Card. Update 🫱 https://youtu.be/3SmCKwVhbOM

  12. Very very useful information for our japan trip in December from Australia 😊 cant wait

  13. Whenever in Tokyo I personally just maximize the use of the toei / subway card. Of course I still use my IC card but I find that for inner-city transportation, using the 72hr card saves A LOT. My IC card is mostly for when I need to take the Chuo or Sobu lines, or when visiting friends in Kanagawa on the Odakyu-Odawara line.
I'm always curious about renting a bike, but slightly scared hahaha. Maybe when visiting/staying at an inaka I will need to bike around..

  14. Hi, how does a foreign person use go? They request for a japan phone number at the sign up stage.

  15. Love the content, you're one of the top YouTube channels we watch to get tips and tricks for our upcoming trip in early October.. you should Moonlight as a tour guide for foreigners, you'd be really good at it 👍💪💪
