Kitano in Kobe, nestled at Rokko Mountain’s foot, is the historic foreigners’ district. Around twenty former Western-style diplomatic residences have been transformed into museums, some designated as Japan’s Important Cultural Properties. Kitano Ijinkan is a prominent tourist attraction, with a clear path guiding visitors through museums, souvenir shops, and Starbucks.
Nunobiki, near downtown Kobe, boasts stunning waterfalls—Mentaki, Ontaki, Tsutsumigadaki, and Meotodaki—renowned as Japan’s exquisite “divine falls.” This area is a favored spot for locals and tourists, offering diverse walking paths and the Kobe Nunobiki Ropeway for exploration, culminating in panoramic views of Kobe.
