Shikoku Island, full of interest places to visit. Show you Shikoku 6pm Australia & 8pm NZ this Sat.

Shikoku is the best known for its 88 Temple Pilgrimage, a 1400 kilometer route established by the founder of Shingon Buddhism Kukai. The pilgrimage circles through sweeping valleys, past tranquil streams, and secret rural communities, up to misty mountaintop shrines and self-realization. Local people will welcome you if you say Konnichiwa!

Shikoku is well worth a visit, even if you can only manage to spend a week in the area. Ideally, you’d spend at least a few days in each of the island’s four prefectures of Tokushima, Kochi, Ehime and Kagawa.
