Exploring Sapporo – Mount Moiwa, Hokkaido Shrine, and Nakajima Park

Hey everyone! We’re back with another travel vlog from our recent trip to Japan. In this video, we’ll be showing you around some of the top sights in Sapporo, the biggest city on the northern island of Hokkaido. We started our journey by taking the Shinkansen bullet train from Fukuoka. We stopped overnight in Nagoya, then continued on the next day to Sendai where we stayed another night. After two days of travel, we arrived in Hakodate and stayed overnight before catching the Hokuto limited express train for the last 3:40 minutes leg up to Sapporo. Once in Sapporo, we headed for Mount Moiwa to get some incredible views over the city.
We took a cable car up the mountain, which offered panoramic vistas from the observation deck. The mountain also had some nice hiking trails. Next up was a visit to Hokkaido Shrine, a beautiful Shinto shrine located right in the heart of Sapporo. The shrine was decked out in gorgeous vermillion-colored buildings and had a massive wooden gate at the entrance. We loved walking around and taking in the serene atmosphere. After that, we spent some time relaxing in Nakajima Park, a lovely green space in downtown Sapporo. The park had beautiful flower gardens, lakes, and walking paths under a canopy of trees. It was so nice to unwind there after a day of sightseeing. Overall, Sapporo turned out to be one of our favorite stops during our trip to Japan. With the mountain views, historic shrines, and scenic parks, there was so much to see and do. Stay tuned for more videos from our adventures in Hokkaido!
