Nagoya Castle Summer Festival – Obon Odori Dancing

Nagoya Castle Summer Festival – Obon Odori Dancing

Summer time in Japan is FESTIVAL TIME! And while there is lots of fun to be had, the weather is HOT and HUMID! If you can’t bear the heat, but love Japanese festivals, the Nagoya Castle Summer Festival is a festival you want to choose, as it doesn’t start until the sun is well on its way down for the day.

Join us for a tour of the festival, featuring their Obon Matsuri Dancing! Locals and visitors alike dance to both traditional and modern Japanese music by the thousands wearing colorful yukata and festival clothes. There is also some great views of Nagoya castle and the grounds where you can find typical Japanese games, food, drinks and fun!
Enjoy this unique experience that runs every August for two weeks in Nagoya, an easy stop on the shinkansen or bullet train between Tokyo and Kyoto!

Full dancing and songs start around the 10 minute mark!
