OKI no SHIMA Island is a reef with a height of about 10m located 150m offshore of Hakuto Beach in Tottori City, Tottori Prefecture.

There are various theories, but Okinoshima is the stage of the myth “White Rabbit Deity” recorded in “The Record of Ancient Matters” compiled 1300 years ago.
The contents of the myth are as follows.
A long time ago, a white rabbit tried to cross from Okinoshima to Cape Keta on the opposite shore, and tricked the sharks in the sea to land there.
When the rabbit tells the sharks that he has been deceived, the angry sharks skin the white rabbit and leave it naked.
Okuninushi-no-mikoto (Deity) said to the white rabbit, “Wash your body with the clear water of the water gate and apply cattail pollen on your body,” and the white rabbit returned to its original body.

    昔、一匹の白ウサギが淤岐ノ島から対岸の気多岬に渡ろうとして、海のワニ（サメ）をだまして上陸しようとしました🐇
    そして、だましたことをワニに告げると、怒ったワニは白ウサギの皮をむいて赤裸にしました🦈🦈🦈
    そこに八上姫に求婚するために通りかかった大国主命の兄神たちが、苦しんでいた白ウサギに「海の塩を浴びて、風に当たればよい」と教え、その通りにすると痛みが増してしまう😭
    最後にやってきた大国主命が「水門の真水で身を洗い、ガマの花粉を体に付ければよい」と教え、その通りにすると白ウサギは元の体に戻りました。🐰
