DAY 96 – THE COOLEST LESBIAN BAR IN TOKYO! レズビアン // 14.01.2017

Nearly 20 minutes of us showing around Tokyo ?!?! Ummm, YES please !!!

So today was very fishy (pun intended)…

We started our morning at Tsukiji fish market. We spent a good hour here, sampling out all of the random delicacies. It is simply a foodie heaven and great to venture out with your camera if you want to see a real local way of life here in Tokyo.

After seeing the fish icecream, we ran to Shinjuku :P. This is one of the busiest and most popular districts here. There is a huge nightlife (which we will to later), many shops, restaurants and of course karaoke…always karaoke.

We hit the pause button on Shinjuku during the late afternoon, to hop on the train to Shimokitazawa. This is a small, cool hipster area of Tokyo. You can find many alternative thrift shops and nice trendy restaurants. You can get here by simply catching a train from Shinjuku station

As we discussed, we managed to buy a bus ticket to Kyoto for half the price of a bullet train. Honestly, we can’t see the benefit of buying a japan rail pass (even with the unlimited travel). Having to use the pass in 7 consecutive days puts a restraint on your time. The bus is waaaaaayyyy cheaper, you can pick how long you wan’t to stay in one place and when you leave. Obviously if you wan’t to ride the bullet train for the experience, then that’s understandable. Maybe we will do this next time we visit.

Anyways here is the link to the bus company we used

In the evening we headed back to Shinjuku to check out the gay nightlife of Tokyo….It was crazy. We thought that Tokyo’s scene would be very reserved; with a few underground bars and clubs but every club was bursting with energy.

The lesbian bar called Bar Goldfinger (amazing name!) was WILD!. Everyone was talking about how Katy Perry spent her new year there and we didn’t doubt it. The place was full of eccentric people and karaoke carried on until the early hours. This place was for woman only (sorry boys).

We ended the night in a nearby club called Arty Farty. The entry was free and the music was great. We didn’t even spend that much money downing tequila shots all night.

So on that note….
