  1. Yesterday, I checked in with a friend in Osaka to see what was going on since the typhoon was smack dab over the city. Nothing to note except for wind & rain, some of the train lines were shut down leaving people stuck at the stations, and relative had to go into work as usual and that was about it. To my friend it was just another day but with inconvenient weather.

Societal pride of toughness and the realities of human physiology are two things that do not mix well.

  2. If I may offer some advice, you may not have enough warning, but if you feel faint it's better to try to sit or lie down in a controlled way, before you are over come and go down uncontrolled with unpredictable consequences. Also, hydrate with something meant for replenishing what you lose in hot weather.

  3. Always a pleasure to ride shotgun (virtually) with you. I did a semester in Japan and I dream of going back one day. Thank you for your your videos.

  4. They only pay attention to the warnings they can see. You can see a typhoon coming towards you. You can't see heatstroke coming at you, "it's just hot today". The fact that it is a collective thought process is scary as well

  5. Your perspective in Japan is probably one of the best on Youtube. Very interesting on Typhoon season. Thanks for posting!

  6. Typhoons are nice because they cool off the atmosphere a bit. Heat actually does kill people here in Japan.

  7. Question for the owner of this channel, please:
Have you ever simply refused to have your kids attend sporting anything outside in the Summer because you do not want to endanger your kids' health? Or, is the social pressure far too great to care about any child's health?
Man, that would really bother me if I were a parent.
Does your wife ever sympathise with you and suggest that maybe sporting events in 38 degree weather are life-endangering, so maybe today we will keep —– at home?

  8. So true, on Sunday I chat with my Japanese friend from Nishiharu, he's got one week's food supply in his fridge, as he planned to stay inside because of a typhoon.

  9. Can confirm to all Japanese people as an Australian we drink rain water collected from roofs stored in tanks for months and no one’s died yet😂

  10. Ah, isn’t it funny that every country has it’s quirks and unfortunately some of those things can be deadly. I wonder if he common sense brain cells went dormant?.
