What kinds of risks are you taking if you move overseas?

    https://vagabondbuddha.com/our-liability-disclaimer-the-risk-is-on-you/

  2. Joe, retired Navy here (FC/FFG's), looking to travel and have a home base overseas. Appreciate the info.

  3. The other thing I noticed watching this video is it was very quiet in his neighborhood or inside of his apartment. He didnโ€™t hear a lot of roosters are barking dogs. I could live in that place for sure!!! Iโ€™m going to have to be very selective once I get there because I cannot stand barking dogs or roosters.

  4. This is actually a very good practical monthly dollar #.
I see lots of loose wild card comments, like ah but that doesn't include traveling in Philippines or in SE Asia, really??
One cant put a monthly # on traveling either in Philippines, SE Asia or anywhere, as airline, hiteks, resort's etc are all over tge map in prices, from lo to hi season, to supply n demand wtc, so one can't put a # on traveling.
Likewise for health care, 1st if one had poor health, probably best stay in ones home country, if one has medico helth, then get in shape, eat healthy n exercise, simple as that, then you can go with self insured, $10 fir a doctor, $12 to $15 for specialist.
Tyhus is a good practical number for someone to use as a comfortable base cost

  5. I like this apartment and it's at a great price for those who want to have a "base" location and travel to other places. I also agree with doing the hotel stay for 2 months when one first arrives to check things out and find a more permanent location for a place to live so one doesn't get stuck with living a year in a place they end up not liking.

  6. Great stuff…the only good milk is cashew milk, soy milk, almond milk, coco milk, hazelnut milk, oat milk, rice milk…. NOT cow's milk because the cows are raped over and over tommake baby cows, then the baby's are stolen and then thei cow's udders get infected and and have painful sores from over milking causing a very early death. Not too mention the cholesterol and cause of hbp, stroke, cancer, etc…. vegan milk wins

  7. Way to go Seabee! I was a CM myself for 21 years and retired early to try to save my marriage which didnโ€™t work. I now live in Thailand.

  8. I'm a Tennessean from Maryville considering retirement in the PI. Maybe one day we will paint the town Orange! ๐Ÿ˜‚

  9. My situation and budget living here unfortunately, in Angeles City, Philippines for now, is a little different.

    1. Rent( 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom, bungalow single family 1 level home, unfortunately, no neighborhood pool access for now- love& miss my swimming as a Navy 1st class swimmer- also served in the Army- OCS)- 27,000 pesos/mth( all in months unless specified differently
    2. Electric- 1800-5500 pesos
    3. Water- 352 pesos
    4. Bottled water delivery( 4/ 5 gallons)- 140 pesos
    5. HOA( home owners association fee- 800 pesos
    6. Internet( entertainment for now along with reading plenty of books)- 1500 pesos
    7. Trash pickup- 300 pesos
    8. Lawn care- 400 pesos
    9. Food( I cook& eat delivered meals often- being disabled & do not smoke or drink alcohol)- 5-10000 pesos
    10. Not much on entertainment, travel, ect. as my Fiancee2wife Charlie ( as I call her), is in school currently in Mindinao, Philippines
    11. Medical-pay as I go for now & have medicare being disabled after suffering 3 strokes& 5 heart attacks in south Florida-2017-2018- did not stop me from writing and publishing our 1st book about my ordeal!!
    12. Transportation(mainly for visa fee renewal/market shopping at Marquee Mall- 2000 pesos
    13. Visitors visa fees( Marquee Mall)-( avg, for every 2 months including ACR card)- (27,500 pesos)total or 4583 pesos / every 2 months!!
    13. Support of Charlie in school- 10000-13000 pesos/mth
Total approx.: 65000 pesos on the high end or 1,000- 1,150/mth for now. Looking now in another area for alot cheaper rent and pool access with same needed house space.

We do this on a specific budget and save all the rest and waiting to secure my full 100% service connected VA rating and all that will be saved&used to buy tax lien certificates back in the states( miss my beloved Florida sometimes) with a little crypto currency mixed in on occasion. That is the ultimate goal to allow Charlie and I to travel( our passion) โค. So my( our budget for now) is under $1,200 dollars a month & this could be considered low or high, all in how you live. It will increase of course, in some ways as Charlie returns here and we move & then start to travel. I plan for an anticipate that factor. I hope this gives you a realistic look at what a budget can be like. Also as published author's, we look to write and publish more books in the future, for hopefully another stream of income. Charlie and I were both highly trained Armed security officers(she full-time& me a Lieutenant, Part time overnight), I did sales, loan officer, real estate investing entrepreneurship & had other busineses in my past. I wish nothing but the best for everyone seeking the adventure to try to have boots on the ground, possibly in another country. I say try it, you may like it for many various reasons. "The mind once traveled can never return to the pre conceived notions or prejudices it once held" One of the many quotes in our unpublished quotes pages book. In other words, be adventurous and take the plunge and travel & or live as much as you can, while you still can. Let Dan& Qiang & now Joe, be your example. Motivate yourself to just do it!! You will not be sorry for your calculated risk taking & thinking outside the box. Charlie(pictured next to me) wanted me to come live here for a cheaper, stress free, understanding, loving and simple life. Trust me it is worth it!! Trudat ๐Ÿ’ฏ. Real talk&Nuff Said!! All be blessed, safe, healthy, happy, prosperous and great!! Yes, si,dung( Vietnamese),ja, oui, Oo( tagalog filipino for Yes)โค๐ŸŽ‰

  10. Hi Dan kumusta? What a sweet deal but a waste on booze and bar girl…on a road to disaster! Sorry but I've seen these guys crying later that they are broke

  11. barili,cebu,5maid letye, dated, picked who slept with, cebu brought maids, dated. After 10 years, picked one and 15th year took her bangkok, married, built house facing ocean high up. LOVE IT. 23years.retired RN

  12. 28:15 I was thinking about this the other day. Iโ€™ve been looking at locations with a pool & gym etc. say $40-50 a night. Youโ€™re talking about $20 a night hotels. So say $25 for a pool & gym. I wouldnโ€™t pay $25 to go swimming at home! Iโ€™d probably pay that at home for swimming and a gym – but I donโ€™t recall ever doing both in one day.

Anyway, yet another great interview guys. Your content is top notch!

  13. Anyone looking at taking a trip over check out Starlux airlines. They fly out of LAX with a layover in Taiwan then into Clark north of Manila. I have not flown them yet, however the prices look reasonable.

  14. Need to quit with the boot polish on your hair mate..The grey was fine before. Probably trying to look young for the woman young enough to be your daughter. Yikes…

  15. i love the different videos on the Philippines , cost of living is awesome. but the question i got is money. for my entire life been use to US currency.. how does that work once to get there. open a bank account . used credit cards or just bring a lots of cash…..

  16. Hi Dan ,, my name is Andrew .. I live in west Nashville , Tennessee.., Iโ€™m planning to move to the Philippines ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ as Iโ€™m retired ,,, making my first visit for around 3 months stay โ€ฆ probably in January or early February โ€ฆ hope I get to meet you as I have followed you for a couple years nowโ€ฆ

  17. Dan as always Nice interview ๐Ÿ‘
    Which area in Philippine โœ”๏ธ

  18. Great ๐Ÿ‘ video.
Thank you for showing another affordable rental apartment.
Please keep showing more of these affordable apartments rents there in Dumaguete, Valencia and nearby towns.
    Keep up the great work.

  19. We live in Donsol Sorsogonโ€ฆ My Filipino wife and I. We pay $212 per month for a fully furnished three bedroom three bathroom house with the beach out our back door less than 10 yards. Would love for you to come visit.

  20. I'm here in Carmona, enjoying life in a 2 bedroom apt in a gated community for $152 a month. My goal is to set this up as home-based and travel from here.

  21. It is cheap because the dollar value is still ok, but for Filipinos who earn little itโ€™s expensive. Living in Manila is more expensive. Electricity is more expensive in the Philippines than in the US

  22. Go Vol's haha. My wife and I leave in 3 weeks. We have seen so many of your travels. I have a question, and perhaps a video idea. We leave in 3 weeks to SE Asia for 90 days. Philippines, Vietnam, and Thailand. Are there any vaccines you have seen are a must. We are making sure our tetanus is current. Anything else?

  23. Great interview but I wish you had asked how he gets his income . Disability or investments .. ect โ€ฆ But very informative. Thx ๐Ÿ™
Iโ€™m moving to the Philippines ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ soon !
