  1. We were just there in the Black Hills! Love the entire area. We did Minute Man Missile site and Badlands too. We drove to that boondocking site but was packed and very uneven to get up there so decided against it with our 40 foot class A.

  2. If you use non-ethenol gas you will not have that problem with your generator. Ethanol gas will gum up the carburetor. Love you guys. Keep trucking.

  3. I CAN'T BELIEVE WHEN YOU'RE HIKING YOU WEREN'T WEARING DRINKING WATER PACKS ON THE BACK OF EACH ADULT AND EACH CHILD
    DAVID GRENIS

  4. Ok, here is a suggestion. Make black out shades with thick cloth and double reflective insulation. Place magnets in them so they can clip right into/on he window frame. Just like the van live-ers do,. The windows really make a big difference when trying to cool and heat your rig. They are also really great winters. Really do help to keep heat in.

  5. I’m used to over 100 degrees being in Las Vegas area. But not in an Rv. It had to be hard to with stand the heat. Glad you got the generator going. I wouldn’t be able to say the name of that museum myself. Not even 10 times fast. Lol😂😂But I’m glad to visited and ate at cool places with air! Great idea!

  6. I grew up in San Diego in the 50's and 60's. We did that stupid 'duck and cover' routine at least once a month in school. Everything city on the west coast was prime for a Russian attack so we knew 'the drill'. Lot of good it would've done. I remember stopping at Wall Drug in '72 when I road my m/c cross country. For miles after miles the signs by the highway read 'Free Ice Water at Wall Drug'. By the time I got there I was so thirsty I couldn't wait! Course I could stop at any stop along the way and gotten free ice water but 'they advertised it' and I fell for it! I learned the power of positive advertising on that day!

  7. Great job Nathan and Marissa for doing boon docking in 100 degrees weather. Great job hiking in the heat. Glad you were able to do this. I knew you could. You are so right with the spot you got that you have a great view. Love it! Love you guys! And safe travels! Great video!

  8. We drive in a Prius and sleep in motels. It's not as cheap and the views are not as pretty, but usually we are heading to someplace and we need a good night's rest. But yes, we've done Wall Drugs and Badlands. Just driving through and stopping to enjoy the views, it was awesome.
I'm setting up to car camp, but will mostly stick to California where I live. If I have a reason to go that way again, maybe I'll stay a day or two. But not in 100 heat.

  9. Thank You for this video. Badlands, wall drugs, wall – took me back to trip to this location over 30 years ago with my folks and siblings.

Camped in our RV with view of the side of Rushmore and epic drives and walks in the badlands.

Definitely less RVs in general BUT just as many billboards for WallDrugs😂

Some accessory/odd memories to share from 30 years ago visiting national parks.
-Kodak had booth stations for film and batteries near every major view.
-Hitting seek on the radio would sometimes just spin the radio around and around – as there was no radio in many areas.
-Cameras around everyone’s neck – sometimes an early camcorder being lugged.
-Tourism from Japan to visit national parks was a big thing – often had the biggest cameras.
-Maps slewn across every vehicles dash.
-Cigarettes were everywhere – such an improvement now on this one.

  10. Try the Lake Superior Circle Tour if you want to get out of 100 degree temperatures. Today, August 14th, the high temp in Duluth MN is 84. The high temp in Thunder Bay Ontario is 81. Or try Maine. The Portland Maine weather is not forecasted to be above 80 this whole week.

  11. I know it's much too late…Boondocks Campground. New Underwood SD. Central to Wall, Badlands, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, etc.
Full hookups $25 per night. Not fancy but will keep the A/C going

  12. We live in the Phoenix area. Nope. Nope. Nope.
When you’re cold, you can add clothes/blankets. When it’s hot, you run out of clothes you can remove very quickly!

  13. We were there a month ago. Only 95 but a windstorm almost blew us off the edge. Luckily the 60 mph winds were blowing up the ridge instead of over the ridge. We had a shaky night.

  14. Hi guys we love your channel. We live in Massachusetts and stay at state parks alot. But we go to Harvest Host too. Then we usually stop by a state park to dump (for price of $15). Now the Massachusetts state parks no long allow dumping unless you stay and camp at their campground. Any idea why they stopped? Are any other state doing this? Thanks

  15. You broke Federal Law when you launched and flew your drone in The Badlands National Park (36 CFR 1.5 Closures & Public Limits) The same holds true for all National Parks.
Soon you will have to buy a usage permit to even film on National Ground if you derive any income from it (YouTube)

  16. We had 90° at Nomad Views in September, but it cooled down to 60° at night. Having been through a heat related illness, it was shocking how quickly you go from OK to really bad.
But that spot is very special.

  17. You can have 100° plus with full hook ups here in South Louisiana. I have a cover and sun shades all around my class A and inside gets 88-90° cant wait for cooler temps.

  18. I boondock at elevation in the summer. I would not willingly boondock in 100F weather. I did get caught in the 90s in Grand Junction a couple years ago and it was miserable.

  19. Always use ethanol free gas for your genny.Pulling the air cleaner and shooting a couple of squirts of small carb cleaner into the intake will often be enough to get it to start and run.

  20. There is a difference between being uncomfortable and being miserable. Don't be miserable. My wife and I tent camped a few weeks ago and it was 93° and 105° with the heat index. Luckily we were with my parents and they have a camper. We hung out in there for the majority of the day
