this is our first trip to Hokkaido and it was a success. We decided to make our first trip to the northern island to the city of Hakodate. We had some airline miles so that help make this an easy decision. We stayed in the Hakodate area and saw as many sites as we could. We would highly recommend visiting there. The scenery was spectacular. The history well presented and interesting. The food was incredible. A couple of times we hired cabs to just take us around to interesting places that the driver knew of. This worked out very well and we will continue to do this. We saw sites that we would not have thought to visit or able to get to in a short visit.
We hope to explore more of Hokkaido in the near future.
