Today’s train: Akita Shinkansen

Today, I am travelling to Tokyo by Akita Shinkansen. It is the fastest red bullet train in the world. I don’t know whether the colour of a train is of much importance to anyone else, but it matters to me. 🙂

The distance between Akita to Tokyo is 670 kilometres. We will be covering this distance in about 4 hours. Today’s shinkansen has coupled and uncoupled versions. the uncoupled version is called Komachi. It will take me from Akita to Morioka. The maximum speed is 130 km per hour. In Morioka, the Komachi will be coupled with Hayabusa and then the coupled version will run at maximum speed of 320 km per hour, all the way to Tokyo.

Akita Shinkansen ticket price:

Ordinary class ticket costs 18,220 yen
