Welcome to Norway. Our restaurant for today is Maaemo. It’s located in Oslo and the head chef is Esben Holmboe Bang.
The restaurant works in the New Nordic Cuisine genre, and focuses on local food and only uses organic, biodynamic, or wild produce..
The restaurant was one of the first Nordic restaurant to be awarded 2 stars in the Michelin guide in February 2016. In December 2019, the restaurant closed to move to another location. This resulted in the loss of all of its three Michelin stars in February 2020. In September 2021 Maaemo won back the three stars.

Do these kinds of restaurants allow people to bring dedicated camera ? Honestly when you shoot video from the lower side of food the color is too dark on the phone camera, otherwise video still great

Wow, that seems like such a great restaurant with great people.
Alexander, i have an important feedback. I've been watching all your videos and i loved it, but this recent one is kinda a let off. I think it would be better to remove the background music during your explanation of the food, because its kinda intrusive and quite annoying, or maybe you should lower the volume of the background music if you wish to retain it.
i find this video too fast from all your previous videos i hope you slow it down in next one, love your videos!!
They way you not only honor the food, nor the chefs alone, but also the sommelier's is such a pleasent surprise every single time and it brings me so much joy to see you do so. What a delicious looking menue, amazing atmosphere and wonderfull people. Again, more than well done episode and thank you for sharing your experiences with us!
Maeemo is truly a special restaurant and was one of my Scandinavia highlights. For anyone going, try and head over to Stockholm as well to go to Frantzen.
This is the best food channel on youtube! I am addicted, look forward to every single release now. You have inspired me to travel and experience some of these amazing places. I ate at my first 3 Star Michelin restaurant last year in Paris (Le Cinq) , my first time ever eating at a Michelin restaurant and it was unbelievable. I did not know food could taste that good… it was a lot of money for me and something I could not do often, but it was worth every penny for the once in a life time experience. Your videos have got me saving for my next food trip!
