✋Hello! Today we climbed the hill in Onomichi City for visiting the temple famous for its rocks. Coming here is a great combination of pilgrimage and mountain tourism. From the temple you can see a picturesque panorama of the city and the islands of the Seto Inland Sea.

Senkoji Temple is located in Onomichi City in Hiroshima Prefecture of Japan. It is a Buddhist temple that is said to have been founded in year 806. It is situated on the hill, 144 meters above sea level. The temple can be reached by climbing the stairs or using the ropeway. The presence of many rocks in its grounds is characteristic of Senkoji Temple. Some of them can be climbed using chains. Main hall is a red-painted building named “Akado”. In front of the Kannon 33 room there is a prayer bead that makes a characteristic sound when pulled slowly. The beads’ sound spreads around the temple as people pray.
