Cycling Gunma (群馬県サイクリング), Spirited Away Bath House & School Turned Art Museum 🚲 Japan Bike Touring

We headed back to the Gunma Cycle Sports Center (群馬サイクルスポーツセンター) for another one of Zeb’s Japan Bicyclist Club Federation (JBCF) races! Join me on a bike ride around the area while he races, see our Onsen hotel in nearby Shima (四万温泉), and watch Zeb’s race footage from the rainy second day of racing on Sunday.

While in Shima, we visited Sekizenkan, a Taisho Era bath house that is one of Japan’s oldest, with a red bridge that is rumored to have inspired the bath house bridge in Miyazaki’s Spirited Away anime movie.

Finally, on the drive home we passed through Niigata Prefecture and got to see a children’s elementary school that was turned into an art museum by picture book artist, Seizo Tashima. Definitely a highlight!

  1. Thanks for always showing us the parts of the country that we had never seen on other youtubers' videos. And it is always nice to see you with your husband!😆

  2. Very cool that you got to see Sekikanzen (have always wanted to go there) and also the museum was great as well! Very creative way of preserving the school. Also seeing Zeb's pov while racing definitely confirmed that it is not something I want to do haha, especially in the rain.
