We closely filmed Miyatake Udon, an udon restaurant in Kagawa, from morning preparation to lunch time. This popular restaurant serves udon noodles by hand, using traditional techniques of foot-stomping and hand-cutting with a knife.
There used to be a legendary “Miyatake Udon” in Kotohira Town, Kagawa Pref. The second master at the time was the model for the character in the movie “UDON,” but the restaurant closed in 2009, much to the regret of fans all over Japan. This is a restaurant that was split from that restaurant. It has inherited not only the taste but also the menu and equipment from those days. Please enjoy the daily life of this popular restaurant that has inherited the traditional taste and techniques.
