Cost of travelling and accommodation in Japan has risen sharply since the announcement of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. We decided to find alternatives to staying at the regular Hotels to find out if it is worth it to rent a Campervan and camp all over Japan instead.

In this video you will see highlights of our trip, as we travel and climb Mount Fuji, to having the most expensive beef in Japan, Matsusaka beef, to travelling into Tokushima where we learn how to dance the Awa Odori. We later looped back into Kyoto for some Yamazaki whisky and the lesser known Omi Beef, and then later on we drove into Shirakawago, an ancient town that’s almost like Hobbiton at Mata Mata in New Zealand. We also stopped at the Sake Vending Machines (Ponshukan) in Niigata, that was a lot of fun. We also stopped by the famous Mount Haruna, known as Mount Akina for manga/anime fans of Initial D, and we stayed overnight at the top.

This is just highlight reel, please subscribe and stay tuned. We want to share our Campervan in Japan experience with you. Japanese Summer can be really hot, so be prepared and bring a battery powered fan.
