Japanese Food Costs in Tokyo vs countryside by comparing Japanese supermarket. The average cost of living in Japan is different between Tokyo and the countryside of Japan and this can be seen in costs of food in Japan. Prices in grocery store in Japan vary but for reference I went to a grocery store in Shibuya, which is my neighborhood. These are the regular prices I pay for food when living in Tokyo. I also visited a supermarket in Toyota City in Aichi which is in the Japan countryside. The food costs in the japan countryside supermarket are about 12% cheaper as you can see in the video. If you are wondering how much food costs in Japan or how expensive is japan or how expensive is Tokyo, then this video should provide some insight on Japan food prices as well as Tokyo food prices. This especially helps if you are planning to live in Japan or Tokyo and will even help if you are going to stay in Japan or Tokyo for an extended amount of time. Japan has a lot to offer but the cost of living in Japan may be a lot higher than in your country so this is something good to know before you visit Japan. Japanese food is amazing but you always need to watching your budget. Sometimes it is actually cheaper to eat out at a Japanese restaurant than buy food at a Japanese supermarket.
