MATSUMOTO JUJO HONBAKO is a very unique hotel which is located in MATSUMOTO city, NAGANO prefecture. This design hotel is a renovated old Japanese-style ryokan. The “HONBAKO” means bookshelf in Japanese, and this hotel is a very unique concept with a large library and bookstore inside the building. Guests can take their time to read books and even purchase them. The books are selected according to a theme and placed throughout the hotel and in the guest rooms.
As a new style of Japanese hot spring hotel, I highly recommend this hotel.
