  1. There's no real utopia on this planet but I agree with Ghib on appreciating Singapore. What I never expect Ghib to feel is that he appreciates living in Singapore more than Japan. I guess that the level of freedom to express yourself and be yourself here is the main point that drove Ghib to stay here. I feel that Ghib may apply for citizenship when the opportunity arises. Being a PR is already a step closer that. Ghib, we love you~ 💗

  2. What about electricity bill with this Steigen Solar Pro & Solar Sun ? If I remember, utility bills are quite costly.

  3. The only thing i dred about living in malaysia is the weather….everything else is fine. Armpit is forever moist if without ac

  4. Singapore has way too many "Third Worlders" who bring along their cultures, behaviours, social norms etc..unlike Japan. More homogeneous, one people, one culture, One Shared Responsibility.

  5. Some Singaporean just don't know how to appreciate what they have and keep complaining about this and that, most of those people are antisocial, antisocial people are failure in the sociality and always blame their failure on others.

  6. When you have it easy, that's when people take it for granted. Only when you have to strife hard for it, then you will appreciate. That's human nature. Adversity can be a blessing in disguise. While good fortune can be a curse, if you don't consciously cultivate yourself. For me, Singapore is a safe haven, but not a paradise.

  7. I like to correct abt the minimum wage if i utd you correctly.

In Sg, we do not have minimum wage but we have Local Qualifying Salary (LQS). And LQS is somehow related how many foreign workers can be employed for a firm.

In short, to be able to assess to foreign workers, a firm has to pay minimumly $1400 or more to locals.

So in a way. There is a min wage.😊

  8. there are pros and cons, but pasture is always greener on the other side is a real thing. For me, singapore is still a bit too over crowded. doesnt matter mrt, but in general everywhere.

  9. Never nodded so much before in a video and I do share the same sentiments with Ghib San's wifey! I think there is a lot of cultural differences between each country and I think we should learn the good from each other. Being responsible for own cleanliness in public facilities hopefully will become a thing soon. And yes i appreciated the SG/Msia weather after going through summer in Japan. People here don't know what VERY HOT until CANNOT TAHAN is until they experience Japan's summer heat! LOL

  10. the 4 seasons, beautiful countryside, etc. Singapore is a tropic city state, this can't change. but i think values and way of living, this can change, and i totally agreed and hope that after a few generations, we can have something like the Japanese society.

  11. Hello Ghib-san, there are some very nice peaceful areas like Seletar country club, park connectors & parks, Tanjong Pagar area on weekdays, etc. Thank you for sharing, I like your videos!

  12. i consider myself well travelled to many countries over the pass 30 years. for me no place is better than Singapore because no matter how good other countries are every time when i come back i feel like i belong to this country, very welcoming, peace, safe and many more good feeling….

  13. Yes, taxi fares is cheap in SG, but COE and cars price are ridiculously high..how can the drivers like us survive. Japan have did the right thing in my view.

  14. you never know when there is only MRT NorthSouth line and EASTWEST line. Now less crowded as there are many lines. Especially during covid lockdown. I lived in TOKYO before. The crowd is amazing.Taxis is amazing expensive from tokyo city to airport cost me $400. Compare Germany train system with Singapore and Tokyo it is far way.😂😂

  15. The grass is always greener on the other side. People are quick to point out their own country's flaws and other country's benefits.

  16. Thank you for putting this together, Ghib. Really appreciate that you and your wife have taken time to remind us of the little things that make Singapore special!

  17. Agree with most of the things you said, but ultimately SG is too boring and bland. All you do is shop and eat. I prefer Japan for the variety of activities you can do, nature, and just Tokyo in general is awesome.

  18. Echoing other comments, I agree with the points brought up in the video. Some Singaporeans take things for granted. I have experienced earthquakes in Taiwan, hurricane warnings in US and nearly missed a flight back from Macau due to Hurricane.
In Singapore, all we have is some rain and the occasional ponding.
For the things brought up about Japanese public responsibility and consideration, Singaporeans can really learn a lot from Japanese and be more civil-minded and considerate.

  19. I went to Korea (not Japan) during a 40-41 degree summer. That same year, Japan was having a devastating heatwave. My aircon broke down in my airbnb, the owner felt so bad he refunded the whole trip and brought me water every day. I would wake up (curtains drawn) sweating, I would be drenched the moment I got out of the train station. I literally cried on multiple occasions.

I got back to Singapore and never complained about the heat again for the next 7 years of my life.

  20. Being able to wear flip flops and shorts to town isnt really a good thing considering Singaporeans are considered really bad dressers with no fashion sense to foreigners.

Do we really want to keep having this image?

  21. i have something to say about point 11
some of 'Abit late' are actually 1 or 2 hours late. last time i got a few friends, we knew their F up pattern, if we meeting at 2pm, we normally at them 12 noon gather , cause they famous for making ppl wait. Or some of my friends , last time we will be like '2pm sharp, u late we ps u' .

  22. Agreed with all your points. Im a Singaporean and in my view, the biggest flaws in our system are the people who dont appreciate Singapore or other Singaporeans enough. Not just in our system and order but also in smaller things like keeping public toilets clean, traffic etiquette, etc. Japan has some good unwritten rules that we all can learn from, mainly stemmed from their love for their country and their people.

  23. Singapore bank (most) got minimum maintenance fee though. Else they will deduct 2-5 dollars monthly.

  24. Old people here that are using smart phone are regularly robbed while they are sleeping

  25. according to data, Singapore is way more humid than Japan is in the summer. So confusing…

  26. I personally discovered that the more you travel to different countries, the more you appreciate being Singaporean and living here. I used to be very very dissatisfied. Then when I had the opportunity to travel solo whenever I could afford it, I came back with fresh eyes, more grateful attitude and a constant appreciation for our history and culture. Singapore will always be my home. I am super proud of my homeland.

  27. If you come to my wedding in jeans, I will throw you out of the venue. 😂😂😂 Also, you make Singapore sound so relaxed…I feel that's a misrepresentation…maybe you are a foreigner and don't feel the pressure of being Singaporean. You always have the option to go back to Japan. For us, this is it. Singapore is all we have.

  28. Totally agree with the digitalization. Alot of process and legal , work related matters still require physical forms, physical signatures and stamping. Digital signatures are not accepted.

  29. Singaporean are more open. Whatever we are not satisfied, we say it out. Unlike Japanese. They rather keep to themselves.

Also Japanese are stubborn especially with language. They always stick to their own language unlike Singaporean.
