I Escaped to Japan’s HIDDEN Mountain Village 🇯🇵 48Hrs Walking the Nakasendo

Japan might be known for its megacities such as Tokyo, but most of the country is just a pile of mountains. Over 48 hrs we walk the Nakasendo trail starting at the stunning village of Naraijuku, nestled in the remote mountains of central Japan. Feat. @RyotarosJapan & @sharlainjapan!

NOTIFICATION SQUAD: These sorts of travel videos don't seem to do as well as they used to on Youtube! If you enjoyed it PLEASE be sure to like the video – it honestly makes a difference. CONVERSELY feel free to also dislike the video now that Ryotaro is finally back.

  2. Japan looks so clean, the people seem to genuinely respect their land, and take care of it unlike where I live.

  3. the colors are gorgeous!!!!! i love the camera work, as always. and yay, more sharla content ^3^

  4. The room feels like you're in a Bond villain's lair and you all should look around for listening devices.

  5. Since I will probably never be able to afford seeing Japan in person, your wonderful videos are always a joy. Those three towns were gorgeous!

  6. We stopped at that Nikuman shop around closing time back in early January 2019. That old guy at 15:26 was so nice, inviting us in and chatting around his fire eating Nikuman until well after closing time.

  7. John Lennon frequently came to Japan privately for family vacation with Yoko and Sean. They stayed at a vacation home in Karuizawa, Nagano prefecture that Yoko’s family owned. Yoko is from very rich family and Karuizawa is known as rich people’s favorite summer resort just like Hampton or Martha’s Vineyard. I have visited a hotel near their vacation home. John and Yoko liked the restaurant and cafe at this hotel and some menu were still advertised as John’s favorite. Nakasendo is famous tourist destination in the same prefecture, so it’s very possible that John had visited there.

  8. I was eating and looked up as the bear was just walking behind you guys 😂 I had to rewind and watch it again just to make sure I wasn’t losing my shit!

  9. I'd be interested in trying Japanese bear. I live in New England and I've NEVER had bear that didn't taste absolutely awful. Omnivores are not meant to be be eaten I suppose.

  10. You Guys are the best. I love❤ Your Crew and Natsuki……I would love to see Japan and Okinawa. Shout out from France but original from Toronto CND. 🖐🖐

  11. A friend recommend me your channel and is really awesome! Japan has many interesting places and well, food is outstanding!

  12. I’m doing the same trip. But I can’t find the traditional house you rented. Can you give me the name or a hint?

  13. Absolutely the most beautiful scenes of Japan I've ever witnessed. Just gorgeous. Will be there in October for a 10th wedding anniversary and can't wait to experience this ! Thank you for sharing this.

  14. Chris not just the cars spoil the atmosphere and the very sarcastic British guy who I like to hear him narrate, and the videos with Riotoro are some of the best that

  15. Chris says the journey series are Patreon backed, but I'm legit saying he's getting extra funding from more the Dr. Jelly and NO MORE VOLCANO…

  16. I've had bear sausage, way back when I was in my early teens, at a Native American powwow. I'd love to try, what looks like, bear bacon, haha
