ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2022年2月に岡山県岡山市にある「最上稲荷山妙教寺」に行きました。
日蓮宗の寺。正式名称は最上稲荷山妙教寺。
所在地が岡山市高松地区であることから高松稲荷とも称される。
特別に神仏習合の祭祀形態が許された、仏教の流れを汲む貴重な稲荷として知られ、寺でありながら鳥居をそなえ、しめ縄の架けられた、神宮形式をあわせ持つ本殿（霊光殿）があるなど、神仏習合時代の形態を数多く残しており、伏見・豊川に並ぶ日本三大稲荷の一つともされ、毎年正月三が日は県下最多の60万人余りの参拝客が訪れる。
岡山県内で唯一、明治初年の廃仏毀釈の被害を逃れた所といわれ、日蓮宗系「神仏習合」の祭祀形態を現在も残す。
歴史のある寺院であるが、第二次大戦後一時日蓮宗より独立し、最上稲荷教総本山妙教寺となっていたが、平成21年日蓮宗に復帰した。
最上尊信仰発祥の地であることから最上稲荷総本山と称されている。
I would like to introduce a place where I went out for a while.
In February 2022, I went to Mogami Inariyama Myokyoji Temple in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture.
A temple of the Nichiren sect. The official name is Mogami Inariyama Myokyoji Temple.
It is also called Takamatsu Inari because it is located in the Takamatsu district of Okayama City.
It is known as a precious Inari shrine descended from Buddhism, where the ritual form of syncretization of Shinto and Buddhism is specially permitted. Despite being a temple, there is a main hall (Reikoden) that combines the style of a Shinto shrine with a torii gate and shimenawa ropes. It is considered one of the three major Inari shrines in Japan along with Fushimi and Toyokawa, and over 600,000 worshipers visit the prefecture every year on the first three days of the New Year.
It is said to be the only place in Okayama Prefecture that escaped the damage caused by the anti-Buddhism movement in the early Meiji period, and still retains the form of Shinto-Buddhism syncretism of the Nichiren sect.
Although it is a temple with a long history, it temporarily became independent from the Nichiren sect after World War II and became the Mogami Inari sect headquarters Myokyoji, but in 2009 it returned to the Nichiren sect.
It is called Mogami Inari head temple because it is the birthplace of the Mogami deity worship.
