  1. Hey man, I have been a sub of you r channel for awhile and respect your work, I also have a YouTube channel about living and working in Vietnam and how to get a English teacher job. I just recently got a partnership with an online TEFL company and my own promo code for my audience. Anyways I live in Lao Cai on the China border. We should so a Collab video together sometime and share our perspectives as teachers living in the far North and you in the South. take care

  2. Whatโ€™s wrong with the ESL teacher lot? Iโ€™m getting ready to head over to Saigon in November to teach.

  3. I got scammed when paid for the taxi ride. I gave the driver 500K and he switched the bill very quickly and said that I only gave him 20K.

  4. Mate i in Saigon in September not sure how I meet up but would like to buy you beer ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

  5. i havent gotten scammed yet, but thats because i am vnese american and grew up here for a while lol, i enjoy the content of your channel my guy. I hope things are going well for you and your family living there.

  6. I was scammed twice on my first visit to Saigon in 2018 when taxi drivers reached into my wallet and took the wrong notes, including the trip to the hotel on arrival from the international airport. Vietnamese currency is just too confusing with notes of vastly differing values having similar colours.
What I learned was never to sit in the front seat or bring your wallet within reaching distance of the driver. I also pre-book the journey from the airport through online service providers.
In Hanoi there are the shoe cleaners who point at your footwear as you walk past claiming there is some sort of damage. Apparently, they will apply some sort of glue that you will have to pay to clean off. I always keep walking.

  7. Always check the bill at a restaurant or bar! Never pay for a hotel room in advance! They almost all overbook.

  8. Chris, the day before i left Vietnam at the park by Bui Vien street but across the street from McDonald's that park there. I had a shoe shine guy come to me being very pushy it was so bad he took my shoes right off my feet when i was sitting on the park bench eating. Then he kept saying I clean I clean. I kept asking him how much. As he just started cleaning far from me so i could not take my shoes away from him. Then hid buddy showed up and they started talking and i had no idea what they both was saying. Next thing i know they both was not only cleaning my shoes but now putting soles on the bottom of my shoes . I told them stop how much and why are you doing this? The new guy that came took the lead and told me no problem we will fix them like new and never answered my questions. I kept saying how much? They both never answered me even after i told them stop. So after this they had the nerve to tell me 1 million. I told them get loss i can buy new shoes for that price. They started talking to each other and i couldn't understand. Then he says 9 hundred thousand. I said no. You never told me price before starting and you took my shoes off my feet and i did not agree to it. So i told him to be honest i dont think i have much money on me anf and sure enough i only had 300,000 and that is all they got. Plus he wanted me to go to an ATM to get the rest. I said i dont carry cards on me so he was out of luck. He said go to your hotel then come back here with 600,000 more. I was so pissed of all of this so I said ok and told him i will be back in a hour. So i never went back . They really tried to put a fast one on me and i feel i still got scammed. I cant believe how force full these guy were on me. So stuff does happen and i learned from these two guys. If any shoe shine guy approaches you as you are sitting get up on your feet.

  9. First banh mi I got off the street (in Siagon) she ripped me for 75K. I was a dumbass, as soon as I walked away I realised. I'd only ever had them in Cambodia and it was easy because it was 75c USD

  10. 24K and he says "I am a huge Youtuber!" ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ What a clown. Started humble and now he thinks he is Mr. Beast! GTFO mate.

  11. When I was wet behind the ears I got scammed with the ' switch the bill ' taxi driver. I then told every susequent taxi driver that there would be no tip and to this day I never tip taxi drivers. I've more than got my money back and when you tell them they are dumbfounded.
