  1. “Why u here”
    “You know why I’m here”
    “You’re hungry”

    Sound like my grandparents 😂

  2. omg sui dan and lap cheung is like the biggest comfort food for me and mama always used to make it. sad she has alzheimer’s now and cant make me delicious food anymore

  3. This is wholesome. Enjoying the time you have with him. Because when he's gone, you'll give anything to have 5 mins with him again. ❤

  4. Wait, he tapped the egg on the bowl the split the bottom, and then squeezed the sides off the egg to make it release??? Can you make a video of your granddads egg cracking in slow motion?

  5. Out of all the Cantonese food channels, this is the MOST authentic average household meal. I love the black bean sardines and steamed egg is classic. My family would just add a simple garlic stir-fried green vegetable of some kind as another dish.

  6. I’m Cambodian and I eat exactly that on my lazy days. Except it’s either fried egg or egg patty with green onions. 🤤

  7. Had an ex girlfriend that used to make sausages like that for me and this looks just like it. I can never recreate that traditional taste tho😢

  8. I love your relationship with your grandpa. This meal makes me think of my fraternal grandma too. My mom used to make this for me growing up too. I’ve never added hot oil to the steamed egg though. It looks good.

  9. Okay, so I'm not the only one that still drinks the oil and broth out of timned canned fish, makarel, salmon, and herrings 😅. So good, I never pour 🫗 that out. Never!

  10. Sharp OG, congrats, especially when he knew instantly that you were there for a free lunch, i.e. reminding you life has no free punches, you need to make something of yourself.

  11. I miss my grandparents a lot , growing up with them were some of the happiest times of my life , those happy memories had got me through some of the toughest periods of my life. Cherish the time you have , really. Thanks Gong Gong and Yi Poh , couldn't have done it without both of you.
