  1. Thanks for your vid 😇💟💟💟 Love and bless you guys, the right Van will come along just like with houses you will see 🙈. your Soo funny.

  2. Watch out if you buy a minibus. Do you really need all those windows especially in the sun and heat. Really looking forward to what you do. Take care

  3. Remember, you save space if you can have the bed side to side instead of front to back like you have now. I don't think that you two are that tall. 😊

  4. great vlog. the crafter looks like a race van, loads of cupboards for tools and parts etc. looks a great option. you could easily move it around and take what you need. look forward to watching your next vlog. hopefully thursday.🙄

  5. its very good you take your time and look as much as possible.,,.. there are also I note, , in uk various guides to buy on building a camper van… I am not affliliiated to anyome and need a new van myself….
An empty van opens your creativiity… and if you could get a double bed and a mini bunk bed for the dogs,… always listen to others… but I do think it will cost £20,000…. you will , I am sorry spend more than 5 k or i eat my hat and you can. have a night or two in my village free!

Maybe being in Andalucia as the heat rises is a positivity… you are not trapped… think positive… PLEASE…….
Why dont you buy yourself a small car tin which you cam pile in a tent and camping gear then u can always sell on later… then no pressure of time etc insurance etc. For me, as a single woman almost presented with same problem of buying a new vehicle as my CLIO dug in her heels to go to the dechetterie, if I hhadnt found my Renault with the help of a friend it was my next option!!!!!
be positive! Take care… check the motor all ver electrics etc and pay a trusted garage to check for you… It's not cheap and you cant do what you are doing on the cheap… Life has moved on malheursement!

  6. Bonsoir guys, Iveco 🎉 good call ! The only vans built on a chassis, the only vans built for 350,000 miles ! Bullet proof mechanics, loads of power in the engine, I love my Daily,❤ ,. Plus they don't look like all the other mainstream vans that are built from the same boring body shell ,
Only exception being the new Man van !
    Lots of love guys x

  7. Oh dear ! You guys are giving me a headache 🥴! Nah, not really, but I am at a very similar place to you just now. I have written to you before Sahra, when you did your little solo trip. After a long 7 years, and somewhat traumatic cancer journey, my darling man, Richard, finally surcomed and I must now decide where and how to live the rest of my life without him 😥. Our house in SW France, is far too big for just one person and I must also sell our beautiful Niesmann+Bischoff ARTO camping car. I have been thinking maybe an apartment or small house in either France or Spain and take holidays in the country I don't move to, to travel and see more of it – and perhaps other destinations too, presumabley staying in hotels or rented accommodation. But watching you two lovely people over the past few weeks, struggling with your own decisions, and also seeing the first signs of excitement on your faces this week while viewing a few van options, I realised, if the finaces workout I could maybe take the same path and buy a smaller van and an apartment …

The ARTO is too big for me and new parking issues, with ever incresing restrictions for camping cars, make the idea of a smaller verson, a much better option, with easier driving and maintenance. Richard and I loved travelling in our motorhome, we met several solo travellers who all enjoyed their independent lifestyle and we were always reluctant to move back to the house at the end of every five or six month winter trip travelling through Spain, it was the perfect antidote to the pressures of a cancer diagnosis, in fact, we returned home earlier than usual at the end of February 2020 – as we knew Covid Lockdown was about to begin and we remained living in the van for over a year, Isolating, parked on our terrace ! The house seemed so big and cold and our van was so cosy and warm.

So, what to do ??? I shall be watching closly where your thoughts and idears take you and I wish you much good luck. I have no doubt that whatever you decide to buy will be the perfect replacement for "Good Ole Viny"🤗. He has done you proud !

  8. Entertaining video as always. You're just cool people!
I wanted to remind you that having a plastic roof males a huge difference concerning heat. I had vans with plastic roofs and no real problem with overheating. Now I have an old sprinter with a metal roof and though I have insulated it with 2cm it's getting super hot in there. I like my setup with to roof hatches one with a ventilator. That cools the van down nearly to shadow temperatures.
And I don't recommend to buy a van with glass windows. Just think how much a normal car heats up in the sun. There is a reason why all motorhomes have insulated windows, and not too many…

In general don't underestimate a conversion.
Things you have to do imho:
    1. Cut all holes for windows, hatches, cables, water. Put in all that stuff
    2. Insulate well, either the 'English' way with mineral wool or similar and a vapor barrier or the 'German' way by sticking self-adhesive foam to the metal.
If you don't insulate such a metal box parked in sun gets easily 70° Celsius. In winter you had to heat a lot.
And condensing water will drip on your nose
    3. Electric stuff. Lights, sockets, fridge, ventilator, heater etc want to be powert. A lot of cables and switches are needed at the right place. And planning. Ok, you could do it with a power station. I think a built-in system is better.
A battery is needed and it wants to be charged. Now we speak of solar and a DC-DC charger.

At this point you haven't done any furniture build, cladding or decorating … That's the last thing. But has to be planned in the beginning that all the stuff mentioned above is in the right place.

I don't want to slow down your enthusiasm. It's needed for a conversion. But also alone realism…

I am looking forward to your conversion! All the best to all four of you!

PS: Why didn't your English Ford mechanic changed the calipers? It's a wearing part… He changed so much of your braking system. They're not really expensive. If he had you wouldn't have all the issues of the last weeks.
And maybe still happy with Winnie.
Newer cars can also have issues. Often electronical ones. It's getting expensive quickly.
I heard the best are the Renaults. Reliable engines and not much rust and other problems. Ford engine unreliable. Peugeot has the Ford engine as well. Don't remember all of it.

A fixed classic car with new brakes and axle stuff and a well maintained engine can be more reliable than a five year old van.
Ok, rust is a problem. But also doable. For Winnie it would cost a couple of thousand euros…

But I think you just want to have something different, newer, more comfortable. I do understand that. I find my sprinter not too big for me, a small dog and all my gear…

  9. Hi both , just wondered how you are affected in Spain / France / Europe with travelling since BREXIT , as you only get to stay for 90 days in total , before returning to UK ?

  10. I personally would to see Vinnie be fixed for real so you can keep going with him. I am biased since I have my 34-year-old Chevy in the shop now having the doors and windows fixed — and a new liner inside. My little Chevy Celebrity is probably better than my "newer" 30yo Buick. The newer vehicles have so many computer controls that break down all the time. The Buck's air con breaks every couple of months, and I am in sunny (HOT) New Mexico. Had to drive the 30 miles to Albuquerque today in 90 degrees Fahrenheit today, and I just melted.

  11. I’m curious why you don’t just buy one built in Germany? They are so cheap! (I think) hardly worth the effort….I was looking at a 2019 Fiat Ducato van for €9900! I like the self build too but seems like such a deal to have the ready made. 🤗

  12. Good luck you guys! The perfect van will come to you when the time is right🥰🤩🫰🫰🫰

  13. Glad you're keeping a journal to keep track of all the different van details. Things start to all blend together pretty fast. 👍
Ohh wow… an Ecoflow air conditioner! What a game changer. I love it!
Sarah.. you are absolutely right… everything will work out just fine. Just embrace the process. You'll look back after all this is resolved and wonder why you bothered to stress yourself so. Embrace your new van adventure. You guys are a Delight… Stay Strong. ❤️

  14. Hey guys, a sticking caliper is a simple fix for most. Either slide pins worn/hard grease or water in fluid. Water most likely. When it is heated, it expands and forces pads out to stick. This fits your symptoms as you describe them. I certainly wouldn't replace van because of a sticking/binding caliper. There are cheap refurb kits for calipers which are largely generic. You almost defo don't neet new calipers.

  15. m just doing a renaul master and on the back pillars i covered the holes with triple gaffer tape and put stretch carpet over the metal. i put stretch carpet over the square top rails and the division metal between the factory ply nd an doing a paint finish on the factory ply. the ceiling i have fixed timbers to the roof struts and put a 1220×2440 ply down the middle with make up pieces either side that rest against the stretch carpet. better if i could send you pictures to give you an idea

  16. I've so much I could say as I've an old VW (jessiesvwadventures) and a modern self build Vwt6 which we filled a pop top and added windows ourselves…. hubby's a carpenter.
Your situation is so different to most. Your USP is different to most. You live simply that's what people love. You'd loose appeal if you were just like all the other sprinter vanlifers. I think you are better. More interesting. I'd have a skilled person insulate and build units. Do the rest of yourselves. Sara's sewing and make special places for your heater aircon and power banks. The hardest bit I think is fitting the cupboard carcases properly…. then do the rest. Only you know what you need. Good luck… the chanel is all about the expanders (4 of you) and keeping it real xxxxx

  17. We have a huge Iveco and love it. Ivecos have great engines like the sprinters and a nice, really small turning circle for if you are used to driving a smaller van. They are cheaper than sprinters but they are harder to find 2nd hand parts for if you buy an older one and the cabs are not comfy at all. Good luck finding your new van! Having AC would be amazing for the doggos 😁

  18. I love the fact that you say it how it is, no glossing, no fabrication you just get down to the nitty gritty and show all angles of van life. I love the fact you have a base too and not pretending to be a full vanlifer though you spend more time in your van than home.

That van from your village looks like a day stealth van

Have you thought at looking at ex emergency vehicles too like ex ambulances and are you going for 4 or 2 wheel drives? Seeing you looking for vehicles is a plus as other channels do not show this. Keep your chin up and wish you the very best😊
