Bed Platform for Honda CRV 2023 Car Camping Build (Not a camping video)

Welcome to Camping with Kim – my new camping channel and forced to make my first NOT-a-camping video.

I recently upgraded to a 2023 Honda CRV but was surprised to find that the rear seats don’t fold flat. My older 2020 Honda CRV seats folded flat to make a nice sleeping area so I was kind of surprised the newer model didn’t keep this feature!

I was determined to continue my car camping adventures though because I love being able to sleep in my car.

Less than 2 minutes later (in video time, a day in real life) I build out a quick and simple bed platform. It’s not fancy but enough to allow me to sleep in the car again.

3/8” Plywood
2×4 Dimensional Lumber
Screws
Floor Mat
Felt
Staples

Tools Used:

Jig Saw
Circular Saw
Mitre Saw
Drill and bits
Staple Gun

I hope this video gives you some ideas on how you can sleep in your car too! It probably works for many cars where the seats don’t fold flat.
