【日本100名城】ぶらり旅第383回「和歌山県：和歌山城」-史跡,城,絶景,天守閣-japanese castle

ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2022年1月に和歌山県和歌山市にある「和歌山城」に行きました。

徳川御三家の一つ紀州藩紀州徳川家の居城である。
城跡は国の史跡に指定されている。徳川頼宣は1621年より城の大改修と城下町の拡張を始め、計画では完成時より更に大規模な城構えになる予定であったが、大規模な改修であったため幕府より謀反の嫌疑をかけられるほどであった。
しかし、附家老安藤直次の弁明で事なきを得た。
また、外堀も拡張して総構えにしようとしたが、これも幕府より嫌疑をかけられ中止させられてしまったため、堀止の地名が残っている。
現在、城跡として現存しているのは最盛期の4分の1ほどの面積である。
明治維新後も本丸の天守、櫓群は遺ったが太平洋戦争末期の和歌山大空襲で焼失する。
日本100名城、城跡は国の史跡に指定。

・入場料　大人　410円、小人　200円（小・中学生）
利用時間　9：00〜17：30（入場は17：00まで）

駐車料金：最初の１時間２００円
２時間まで３６０円、２時間以上１時間毎２００円
車輌制限：高さ２．６ｍ以下（マイクロバスは不可）
営業時間：２４時間年中無休

In January 2022, I went to “Wakayama Castle” in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture.

It is the residence of the Kishu Tokugawa family, one of the three Tokugawa families.
The castle ruins are designated as a national historic site. In 1621, Tokugawa Yorinobu began major renovations of the castle and expansion of the castle town, and the plan was to make the castle even larger than when it was completed. It was enough.
However, thanks to the defense of Naotsugu Ando, his assistant chief retainer, everything went smoothly.
He also tried to expand the outer moat to make it a sogamae, but this was also suspected by the bakufu and stopped, so the name of the moat remains.
Currently, the area that remains as castle ruins is about one-fourth of what it was in its heyday.
Even after the Meiji Restoration, the Honmaru castle tower and turrets remained, but were destroyed in the Wakayama air raids at the end of the Pacific War.
Japan’s Top 100 Castles, the castle ruins are designated as national historic sites.

Parking fee: 200 yen for the first hour
360 yen up to 2 hours, 200 yen per hour over 2 hours
Vehicle limit: 2.6m or less in height (microbuses are not allowed)
Opening hours: 24 hours a day, seven days a week
