  1. Irvins brand was introduced to Singapore in 2017, so how could it be a childhood snack for those in their late 20s to early 30s? It is a childhood snack for those who are currently not more than 16yrs old. I love the tapioca chips and am still eating them occasionally. The shrimp crackers are cny favourites.

  2. Haw flakes are made from the fruit of the chinese hawthorn.

    Health benefits of hawthorn berries
They may protect the heart. According to a 2020 review, hawthorn may have a heart-protecting ability. …
They may have anticancer properties. …
They may be beneficial for diabetes. …
They may have antimicrobial properties. …
    They may help digestion.

  3. The person who compare durian to coffee might be very on point.
No one likes coffee on their first try.

  4. haha their reactions are so interesting. love how one of them just immediately goes OISHII for almost everything.

i think Mamee and Fancy Gems would have been interesting to review too

  5. Lol. They eat everything with beer😂😂😂 really Japanese…
Nobody eats these durain candies. In the past there was durains puffs similar to cheese rings/twisties. That was the worse fake durain product.

The pola snack printing indeed become like shit. In the past it was very clear. Also the taste now is abit off. Idk how the food safety people didnt report anything different.

  6. Thankfully Ghib did not bring the horrible Irvin's Fish Skin to Japan. Imagine the horror when his Japanese friends find a fried lizard inside! 🦎🦎🦎

  7. Some of those snacks are really old from over 40 years ago, which others are relatively new. For example, if salted egg fish skin is your childhood snack, I guess you are probably still a child. While stuff like the white rabbit candy or the fish satay were around for much longer. There are quite a few other snacks, but some are no longer available or very difficult to find in Singapore.
Love how the Japanese are brutally honest with their reactions. 😉

  8. Basically, all the childhood snacks are good with beer. I wonder who the target audience of the snacks really are… XD

  9. My favourite childhood snack is twisties. The packaging is still very much the same after all these years. It is still very popular. Another of my favourite is Ken Ken cuttlefish.

  10. 美味いやつばかり。
    懐かしいモノもあれば、此処5年ぐらいで流行った奴も有って、NICE choice👍

  11. the satay is one of my favorite and more affordable snack from my childhood. only 5cents each stick (in 1980s, or is it 3 sticks? anyone remember the price??). if i want a snack and save money. this would be it.

  12. i really love pop pop. i think it's extinct though. it's kinda like umaibo but with more basic flavours.

  13. As a Singaporean growing up in the 90s, my favorite snack is the Kong Guan biscuit. There are a few of these varieties but mostly biscuit sandwiches with lemon custard cream, chocolate or pineapple jam.

  14. Not sure in this video… but eating or food tasting usually start from the lighter taste first?
If start from the most spicy/ salty food, the rest may not be appealing.

  15. James! How can he make a casual appearance like this without updating what’s he doing now 😆 nice video, should have let them use the mouth wash after the durian

  16. It brings me a lot of nostalgic seeing all these childhood snacks. I remember there is also the flower biscuit, ear biscuit(there are 2 types), kaka(not seen anymore), mamee etc. I used to like the white rabbit candy and chilli tapioca snack when i was little. 😄

  17. I tried the Pola snack recently, it tastes different now, less flavour (I remember it to be saltier) & less crunchy. And the half-hearted printing on the biscuits was sad too 😅

  18. My all-time fav are the prawn rolls! Once start cannot stop 😅.
Next will be the chilli tapioca (with peanuts version) 🤗
