First, we’ll start with Nara Park, where you can feed and interact with the friendly deer. These deer are not afraid of humans and will bow to you for deer crackers, which you can buy from vendors around the park.

Next, we’ll visit Todaiji Temple, one of the most iconic temples in Japan. This temple houses a massive bronze Buddha statue, one of the largest in the world. You can also explore the temple’s museum and garden.

After that, we’ll head to Kasuga Taisha, a Shinto shrine that is famous for its thousands of stone and bronze lanterns. The shrine is dedicated to the deities that protect the city and the imperial family.

Our next stop is Kamaika Restaurant, where you can try some of the best udon noodles and sake in Nara. This restaurant is famous for its traditional Japanese cuisine and cozy atmosphere. Nara is actually the birthplace of Japanese sake, as the first recorded production of rice wine was in Nara in the 8th century. Finally, we’ll end the day at Nakatanidou, a famous mochi shop where you can watch the mochi pounding process. Mochi is a sticky rice cake that is often eaten during celebrations and festivals. You can see the chefs pound the mochi with wooden mallets at an incredible speed and rhythm, before shaping them into bite-sized pieces and filling them with sweet bean paste.
