But one thing about Guyana – it’s home to some of my favorite foods in the world! From indigenous influences, to Caribbean, to Indian and Chinese—you name it, it’s a part of the culture here. Today we’re exploring the capital city, Georgetown. We’re trying local food like metemgee to street food like egg balls, Guyanese Chinese food, and food that has been influenced by India like dal, roti, and baigan choka!

And of course, the ultimate dish, pepperpot. Not talking about you Gwyenth! This dish is so good, you’ll want to lick the plate! Let’s go to Guyana!

  1. David. It was these Guyana 🇬🇾 South American videos that drew me to you. The only other person I’ve seen feature it was chef Gordon Ramsay. Brooklyn born but raised in Guyana til 4/5 , back to NY for school then every summer til 10. Haven’t been since. I see Stacey on IG. So you have educated me foods I’ve never encountered. This documentary 4hrs so may take me a few attempts to complete. Thanks in advance for I already know an amazing video. Omg. My grandmother mum, aunts lived for Limacol 😂. Bora. Black cake. Pepper pot. Pepper sauces. Border market. I never had 5 finger. Anyway I’m watching and enjoying. My comment would be endless. Guyana and the spelling of my name are 2 things are rarely see. 💕🙌🏼🙏🏼

  2. Hi David…I think we all know Guyana is part of SA but we consider it to be Caribbean cause most of it's foods and culture and it's customs…similar to most of the islands….viewing now and I;ve seen the series and it was just AWESOME!!!….esp seeing the various scenery …foods the indeginous peoples and the Magnificent Kaieteur Falls which I had not really viewed so up close….Thanks David and as always stay safe Blessings and Peace. …. .

  3. Hi David. South America. Guyana does not share in the Caribbean. It's Atlantic. If anyone has any doubt, please check out the map of the Caribbean. Guyana is further southeast than the Caribbean sea. David, since I have seen this series before, there isn't much to comment on. You always do a great job with your documentaries. Just a reminder that you don't drink the limacol. Have a great day.🙏❤️🇹🇹🇨🇦

  4. Made it to the end David. Glad to know I’m not the only one that will lick a plate 😂😂. Sop all that gravy/sauce up 🙌🏼. With Roti /rice or bread or in our case tongue 😛. Great Vlog. Looks like I need a trip back to my country. Thanks so much and see you tomorrow.

  5. easily one of the most underrated (and unknown) cuisines.

edit: Found your channel from the collab with Xiaoma and im so impressed! Such an incredible experience to spend time eating with the President, thanks for sharing

  6. 🇬🇾 Is both Caribbean and South American. We have been historically West Indian since the British West Indies days. That’s why worldwide we are recognized as a Caribbean country. Check any history book or census form. We also have Caricom headquarters in our country which has been successful ever since it’s creation.

  7. It's so cool, you get the president of Guyana
to cook for you we can't find this nowhere else
    in the world.🇬🇾🇮🇳🇺🇸
