ふらっと出かけた場所を紹介しようと思います。
2022年1月に和歌山県太地町にある「太地町立くじらの博物館」に行きました。
鯨専門の博物館として世界一のスケールを誇る「くじらの博物館」には、鯨の生態や捕鯨に関する資料などおよそ1,000点に及ぶ貴重なものが展示されていて、日本の捕鯨発祥の地として昔から現代までのおよそ400年の歴史を目の当たりにできる。
博物館内には、鯨類骨格標本、古式捕鯨に用いられた道具、古式捕鯨を模したジオラマ、近代捕鯨の銛や大砲、キャッチャーボート模型などクジラと捕鯨のことが詳しく展示、解説されています。
クジラやイルカとのふれあい体験やショー、水族館では小型のイルカや太地周辺の魚類や甲殻類、クラゲなどをみることができる。
開館時間：午前8時30分～午後5時（年中無休）
入場料：一般 1,500円、小中学生 800円、保護者同伴幼児：無料
I would like to introduce a place where I went out for a while.
In January 2022, I went to the Taiji Town Whale Museum in Taiji, Wakayama Prefecture.
The Whale Museum, which boasts the world’s largest scale as a museum dedicated to whales, exhibits about 1,000 valuable items such as materials related to the ecology of whales and whaling. You can witness about 400 years of history up to the present day.
Inside the museum, there are detailed exhibits and explanations about whales and whaling, such as whale skeletal specimens, tools used in ancient whaling, dioramas imitating ancient whaling, modern whaling harpoons and cannons, and model catcher boats.
You can experience and interact with whales and dolphins, and in the aquarium you can see small dolphins, fish and crustaceans around Taiji, and jellyfish.
Opening hours: 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (open all year round)
Admission fee: General 1,500 yen, elementary and junior high school students 800 yen, infants accompanied by parents: free.
