In Japan, if you’re open to it, you’ll make friends quickly! People are amazing
👍🏻
my all travels to Japan are solo too except once 👍
👍🏻
Would you recommend buying esim for internet? I know my phone is compatible. Have you tried it? I can see AIRALO is very cheap. 12 dollar for 5 GB. Valid 30 days

I just got back from doing my first solo travel abroad from Japan and I loved every second of it and the main thing I was worried about was driving there but after the 2nd day I was driving like a native and I had more freedom to explore more areas!
I was doing semi solo travelling because my friend and i had different itinerary. We was only together at the airplane 🤣. I would carry a small backpack and medium luggage.
Great video
👍🎉
I will have my first ever solo travel in Japan this November! I went last year with a guided tour, but this time I want to go by myself, I’ll do 10 days in Tokyo with few daily trip! Can’t wait for it! Your videos are really helpful and well done!! Thanks!!! ❤
👍Looks like I will be going to Japan alone. My niece won't be able to make it. Was glad to see this video.
Solo travel, well that becomes an imperative if your actually want to go anywhere on your own schedule. In the past I don't know how many times trips with other people fell through and never happened cause stuff happens. It happens even more often, when more people are involved in a trip. Interestingly enough my previous trips to Japan have not been solo, because I was visiting friends who lived in Asia and Japan was an add on destination at my insinuation. My next trip will be solo, because I have goals and interests that I need to accomplish that are not easily shared. The thing I've learned is to just do it, because it will mostly go as you have planned, and when things go awry, you'll inevitably find and experience things you didn't know existed, or needed till you encounter them. Nathan's rules are the basis of a great solo trip to anywhere, but apply doubly to Japan.
I use a duffel bag with wheels and a backpack when I travel.
I’ll be visiting Nihon solo I’ll be fine?
Great video! Having to go it alone should never stop people from doing the things they feel called to do! 👍
Great Video. Went to Japan once before a few years ago in a guided tour. This year I will be going Solo in end of November to beginning of December. Cant wait to see the autumn colors. I carry a backpack for my camera and drinks/food and will be bringing a big suitcases (mostly for souvenirs 😉). Your other video's have helped me a lot with planning the trip. Thank you for all the work! Greetings from The Netherlands 👍
Your videos always make me smile.
Nice video! I really want to solo travel and I relate to any of the concerns you pointed out in the beginning. Travelling in a group first will definitely help me get acquainted with Japan for my solo travel later.
I like solo travel because of the privacy; I don't have to worry about my money going missing. And I can set my own hours and agenda.
And yes, there are bad apples everywhere. I was at NAMBA station heading back to Rinkutown when a group of mid-20s Japanese were carrying an intoxicated friend, who started yelling in my deraction, so I just left for a different train car. But that was my only really bad experience.
I prefer solo traveling, that is what I did last time and that is what I’m doing this time, I won’t be lonely because many of the days, I will be with people from Japan who I met and built relationships with. 👍
Solo travel is the best, although at this point I would not mind showing my besties around Japan for a bit. 👍🏼
Going to Japan for the first time ever, and it'll be Solo, Oct-Nov. I've got a great list of places. I keep seeing more places to add to my list so odds are it'll depend on how I'm feeling and weather on what all will be done but I like you mentioned having a backup plan for your trip incase things don't go as planned. However I have a few I'll be at rain or shine xD.
Me too, am going to Japan Solo this November. As seen in other comments there are quite a few people from this channel there. So wre might be solo, but not really alone 😉
Looking forward to this trip on my on pace. Ok the hotels are booked but with enough time to stay in an area more than a one or two days.
You hit every reason I now only travel solo.
Though not my first visit to Japan, this November will be my longest stay (28 days) and first solo travel to Japan.
Great video. I do think my next trip will be solo. I've traveled solo many times even if I enjoy company. I think you're completely correct in Japan being easy to travel solo.
Last trip Feb I carried a big suitcase with small one in side and filled it up at the end I just took enough clothing week then did laundry weekly during 3 week trip. I did 3 weeks next time soon hopefully Sept or Oct will do 2 weeks found 3 weeks bit to long as long days sightseeing was exhausting and by myself got a bit lonesome some days hope to fit one more trip before JR pass goes up
Solo Travel? Solitary Gourmet! Manga, anime, JDrama, well into its ninth season, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodoku_no_Gourmet
The joys of solitary dining… Actually the drama, follows after to meet the people at the restaurant visited and it's fantastic, another travel itinerary!
Kodoku no Gourmet – It;s a life style.. The main character is a salary man, who's often caught hungry while away from his area, on business trips or errands! Follow along!
BTW< Columbia sports, has a suitcase medium and large, with Large Straps that you can use as a backpack, has wheels and telescoping handle 👍👍👍
Thank you so much for answering my questions earlier Ninja Monkey. I’m traveling solo until the 25th and I’m struggling to make friends with the locals. I don’t really know where to go to find Japanese people who want to interact with foreigners so I really appreciated your advice earlier. The loneliness here is real especially with most people wearing air pods I don’t feel like chatting them up. So far I’ve only had interesting conversations with foreigners and I hope my luck changes soon because so far I’m lukewarm on Japan.😢
I wish more counties were like Japan.Fami chiki and Cc lemon are on my hitlist ,I am a dirty scrub lol Thank you for the informational vid 👍
This is my second solo travel in Japan. Love it. But I don't mind traveling with you
Great video as usual my friend!!! Traveling solo is amazing and I know you love it!!! Don't worry, I'll be great company if we travel together. 😹😹
