Japan: 4 Days in Tokyo

Join us as we start our two week return to Japan. Perhaps a little braver than before. Perhaps more foolhardy. Not everything went right, but a fab time was had.
Our first destination was Tokyo, before heading on to Hakone, Osaka, Nagasaki and Kyoto.

And, “NO”, Quincy (the dog) did not come with us on this adventure.

The Gate Hotel:
Where we stayed. Close proximity to Sensoji and the river with a fab rooftop bar and fuctional accomodation.

Asakusa Gyukatsu:
It isn’t pork, it’s beef. There’s always a queue (always a good sign) and situated within seconds of the Gate Hotel:

Teamlab Planets:
An instagramers wet-dream … as long as you can find a corner that feels uncrowded. It makes for a good video but the atmosphere and people somewhat dented the “spiritual” feel of the rooms. Fine, but you can do this kind of thing anywhere.

Gonpachi – The “Kill Bill” Restaurant:
NOT the one featured in the movie (that was a set), but a key influence on the set design. Fun atmosphere with great staff and good food. It was fun.

Rainbow Karaoke:
Clean, easy to use with a host of options – suitable for those a little apprehensive about a karaoke experience.
