Barcelona (or Barcelona in Spanish) is the largest city in Catalonia and the second largest city in Spain. The city has more than 1.6 million inhabitants, the Barcelonans. Barcelona is located on the Mediterranean and 160 km from the Pyrenees. The city was built on several hills, the main ones being Montjuïc and Tibidabo. Barcelona has organized several events that have left their mark all over the Barcelona city, such as the World Expos of 1888 and 1929 and the Summer Olympics of 1992.
