Our plan was to be in Nuwara Eliya for only 1 nights. However, it changes to 2 nights because our host told us that there is a hill climb race and his family members will be racing. We thought that was super cool so had to join in on the fun.
We were with Sumeet, our host to the mahagastote hill climb race in Nuwara Eliya, This is the oldest motorsport race in South East Asia dating back to 1932. The aim of the race is to race up a hill 875m, with the fastest being the winner. The fastest time recorded is 32.643 seconds and was done in 2017.
You can race up the mountain in a bike or in a car. Do you think they managed to break the record this year?

Be careful in Sigiriya. Very beautiful place, an absolute must see. Go there early morning though, because at mid day it becomes too hot for white people on the top of that cliff. Sigiriya is by the way also famous for the huge clusters of honey bees on the side of the cliff, so this time take your own advice: If they do fly by you or even land on you, just stand still and be still! They do only react to you as treat, because of sound and motion. I were swarmed on the top of that cliff, when I was there, but I just closed my eyes and let them flew by and was not even worried. I were in Nuawara Eliya also, unfortunately in October, the coldest time of the year, when that place is surprisingly cold and wet, but still very beautiful. I actually went by foot from my hotel to a beautiful waterfall just above, where that race ended and from there walked to the Pedro Tea Factory.
Y'all gotta be one of the cheapest, inauthentic people on YouTube, with your whole talk about "helping the locals"(🤡). Too cheap to spend $3 USD to go to the park let alone go to the temple of tooth (arguably one of the most important/iconic places in Sri Lanka).
