Waterfalls & Incredible Views Hiking Maya-san in Japan [Kobe Day Trip]

Come with me on a sweet day trip from Kobe (or Osaka) to hike up to the summit of Mount Maya. Starting from Shin-Kobe station we’ll visit the Nunobiki waterfalls, walk through the luscious Nunobiki Herb Gardens and then hike through the forest to reach Maya-san and the spectacular Kikuseidai Observation Platform, which takes in all of Kobe and off to Osaka in the distance.

After that, we’ll take the Maya Cable and Ropeway down, then finish the day with a soak at a small local bathhouse (sento) near Sannomiya station in Kobe.

If you’re looking to get out into nature on your next trip to Japan then this day hike may be for you!
