We Came BACK TO MALAYSIA for THIS!!🇲🇾 is this the BEST Street food in Asia?

We are back in Malaysia! Follow our journey of a British Filipino couple exploring Kuala Lumpur Malaysia for the first time in 2023. Today we decided to head to Petaling Street and Jalan Alor for some Malaysian street food. Malaysia is such a diverse country they have multiple food influences leaving your tastebuds craving more. One of the many reasons we wanted to come back to Malaysia was for the street food. We also tried the famous Ramly Burger again and it did not disappoint.

  1. Don't forget to try banana leaf rice at Bangsar or Brickfield, Malay rice and lauk at Sambal Ijau, Ikan Bakar (grilled fish) at Jalan Bellamy, Sate Kajang, Ayam Percik (Grilled Chicken with creamy coconut and lemongrass sauce), Putu bamboo (rice cake dessert with palm sugar), Luo Han Guo (a refreshing drink, Petaling street or jalan alor should easily have this), Fried Tang Hoon, Keropok Lekor, fried cempedak (jackfruit), and ABC, Cendol, and many more.

  2. অনেক দারুন হয় তোমার ভিডিও গুলা। মজার মজার খাবারের আইটেম দেখতে পাই তোমার চ্যানেলে

  3. You guys should get the original roti which is roti canai!😍Omg so delicious

  8. The foods that you have it in K.L just around 5% of Cuisines in Malaysia..should go out from K.L, like go to the east coast of Malaysia states like Kelantan or Terengganu, different types of Malay cuisines, different vibes & traditions..more option of desserts, savoury snack & most of the cuisine there are not too spicy….in south state of Malaysia,Johor state, there is Laksa Johor that use spaghetti as it noodles with fish & coconut milk broth base gravy that look like Gulai(Malay style curry)…and many more…

  9. Hey there.
What you have tried is Zhong Zhi 粽子, which is vastly different from Jiao Zhi 饺子. Confusingly, both are known as dumpling; Jiao Zhi is the more world-widely known (think Japanese Gyoza) as ‘dumpling’

As for the Zhong Zhi type that you guys had, generally, it was meant as a ‘travel’ snack/food. The way they are made are meant to last a few days, whereby the savoury version (with meat, chicken, mushroom, etc) is meant as a meal whereas the sweeter version (the one you guys tried) is more as a snack. And of course, there are different styles, e.g. Cantonese version, Nyonya, etc. And if you heard of Dumpling/ Dragonboat Festival in Malaysia or Singaporw, Zhong zhi is the integrated part of the festival, especially in Penang.

p.s. the leaves are bamboo leaves
p.s.s The leafy dumpling taste better a day or two after, compared to eating it fresh at the stall
p.s.s.s A good leafy dumpling is judged by the cooking results: 1) the leaves should easily peel off without alot of sticky rice on the leaves 2) the cook is thorough when you don’t get hard individual grains (as these are sticky rice, individual grains mean they were kinda uncooked)

  10. Malaysian chicken taste better because we serve fresh chicken while in most countries including yours, serve frozen chicken thus why our chicken is more tender, moist and jucier.

  11. You guys must try Roti Bom, my absolute favourite. You can get them at any restaurant which makes roti canai

  12. Welcome to Malaysian i hope you enjoy stay here at Malaysia we have malaysian bumiputera 63% Malay + Iban +Bugis kadazan +orang asli and another 20% is Chinese 9% is Indian and 6% is no Malaysian and born here

  13. I'm local but I can only take durian in its original form, being just the fruit. Any other food with the durian processed or cooked into them is a no for me too, be it ice cream, crepe, cake, pudding, sauce or whatever crazy interpretation people here come up with 😂 But I can sit and run through pods of fresh durian any day.

Welcome back to Malaysia guys, hope you'll have a wonderful gastronomic adventure while you're here. Go crash any hari raya open house that you find, I'm sure they'll let you in 😅

  14. Best if we order cheese nan with tandoori chicken, tear the chicken and naan little bit and put the chicken in between the naan and eat.
