Magome-juku in Gifu Prefecture was a post town on Nakasendo, a major highway that connected Kyo (Kyoto) and Edo (Tokyo) in Edo Period (1603-1868.) The stone-paved sloping road is lined by traditional inns, restaurants and shops. #Magomejuku and neighboring Tsumago-juku are jointly rated one star, and the whole area called Kiso Valley is rated two stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japan.
