Most tourists visit Miyajima (Itsukushima Island) in Japan to see the famous Torii and Itsukushima Shrine and, of course, to taste the excellent street food. But away from the main streets there are many more sights to explore. We took a relaxed walk to the beautiful Daishō-in temple and the nearby Omoto Park, enjoying the scenery away from the crowds. I also stopped at Miyazato Cafe for a tasty Sri Lanka curry lunch. Join me for a relaxed tour of some parts of Miyajima you may not have seen before.
