撮影：2014年2月８日 冬の北海道の小樽観光でおススメは、２月に開催する「 小樽雪あかりの路 」これは運河会場、手宮線会場、朝里川温泉会場などの市内の各地域で開催。キャンドルの温かな灯火が小樽の古い街並みを優しく照らす、幻想的な冬のイベント。創意工夫を凝らしたスノーキャンドルが街中をデコレートする。メインの運河会場では、ガラスの浮き玉にキャンドルを入れ、水面に浮かべて幻想的な雰囲気を演出。散策路の雪道を優しく照らすスノーキャンドルもノスタルジックな風景で印象的。雪で固められた小さなかまくらの中でロウソクの炎がゆらめき、オレンジ色の灯りは歩く人々を癒してくれる。

Otaru Snow Light Path Festival
Otaru is one of the famous historical cities in 30 minutes by train from Sapporo.
The Otaru Snow Light Path Festival is a winter festival held every February in Otaru, during which the city becomes decorated in lights and small snow statues for ten days.
The combination of the snowy town and the glittering lanterns creates a very pleasant atmosphere.
During the festival many lovely snow lamps and sculptures are built to decorate these locations, which get beautifully lit up everyday .
Various kinds of ice-candles made by citizens are also seen on the canal, walks, or shopping streets, making the fantasy world after dark.
