I Tried the CHEAPEST Meal in Asia’s Most Expensive Country

Trying 5 shockingly cheap meals in Singapore. S&B Crunchy Garlic With Chili Oil is available at most NTUC FairPrice (at the chili corner) and at RedMart http://bit.ly/40sJ7AI (chili oil is sold out but will restock 17 April onwards)
You will not believe how some food is so affordable in Singapore. I traveled around Singapore to try them all! I appreciate the stall’s effort to keep the costs low, serving for people. Please consider supporting these stalls listed below. Huat ah!

– $1 Nasi Lemak at Kedai Makan Muhajirin https://goo.gl/maps/A7nwwBdWGLnqSsJs7
– $1 Bee Hoon at Yan Fried Bee Hoon https://goo.gl/maps/8VWSc3FDSTLLH2Lp8
– $2.80 Laksa at 63 Laksa https://goo.gl/maps/RUE4pLh2wTDJ85k66
– $3.50 Chicken Rice at Yong Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice https://goo.gl/maps/hLkaWsjA6DQVTtdJ6

  1. There are still some genuine older hawkers in Singapore looks at trying to keep food affordable because they understand what’s hardship during 60-70’…
Unfortunately, these hawkers is getting lesser by the day as they passed on or call it a day…😢

Anyway, Nothing beats home cooked food which I m sure many envy you to have MIL that u can pop over for a home cooked meal …
    Your MIL is a gem…😂

  2. Eat $1 nasi lemak, $1 beehoon so happy, end up lugi $14 bec u take $16 Grab. 🤣🤣🤣
I haven’t heard “dolley” being used for 20yrs! So nostalgic to hear u guys saying it 😊 – Fan of MIL

  3. I always buy the same chilli oil (just ship it from Japan) but it is not S&B brand it’s a generic brand from Fukuoka. I am happy to get it here now! 😅

  4. Ghib,good job. 👍
My request is for you to have Part 1 n part 2.
Hope all the food stalls follow him n sell clean cheap delicious food with love.
Best to have options for those who want to buy extras and add on's to the basic basic lemak.

  5. You cant take the riches outta this world when you gone..love the altruistic spirit of these old hawkers in wanting to keep to a low price to keep it affordable for the poor

  6. どれも信じられないくらいに激安で、行ってみたい‼️
    お義母さんお料理上手だし相変わらず面白すぎ😂
    食べラーはシンガポール料理にも合うんですね✨

  7. Haha…thank you Ghib Ojibsan…this is the kind of important food price information that Malaysians working in Singapore here needs, thank you.

  8. For the Yan bee hoon, you must eat the chicken wings. They are famous for it.

  9. 8:56 Yes chao cho means fishy but normally we wont say it to compliment the food.
We use chao cho if the food is bad, Example this otah is chao cho liao. Means its maybe spoiling and has too strong of a fishy smell.

  10. this is why i love hawker food, they have a big heart, they work extremely hard and some of them have become my friends, I respect their craft and who knows, I might become one myself.

  11. In terms of food price Singapore is not very expensive..even McDonald's meal is cheap. Expensive things in Singapore is housing and private vehicle like car

  12. Take $16 Grab to eat $1 nasi lemak. Only 1% can afford that kind of nonsense. Affordable indeed.

  13. $1 chicken wing? Really ? Maybe for you only. It is definitely not $1. The old man will salivate at his corporate customers' orders of 20 packets, 50 packets ….. of nasi lemak. He has 1 dedicated staff who will pack and pack the nasi lemak. The rest of paying customers just have to bear with that, and queue a long time. The old man frequently will run after and reward his corporate customers with free curry puffs. Paying customers will never smell anything of that. Old man's top priority is his corporate customers.

Did you see any old people buying $1 nasi lemak while you were there ? This $1 story has been rehashed over and over again.
