We wanted to walk in the woods but where we went, it all was fenced off, sadly. So we ended up walking along a wired country road through the mountain. There is a lot of wild nature and a lot of bamboo.
With the villages and forests between Wakayama and Osaka, it is truely a good view.

I agree with the point about protecting nature from humans by restraining our movement. It is quite a valid approach, especially near cities. If we want to walk on grass and whatnot we should maintain parks in our cities, not trample down nature.
