Buying a Sim Card in Namibia

Everything you need to know about buying a prepaid sim card in Namibia, find more info and up to date prices on my blog: https://www.traveltomtom.net/destinations/africa/namibia/prepaid-sim-card-in-namibia-for-travelers.

In this guide you find everything about sim cards in Namibia. Don’t waste money on high roaming costs, get yourself a local sim card on arrival. You will thank me later because traveling in Namibia can be challenging sometimes.

MY advice is to buy a sim card at Windhoek Airport on arrivals, it take just a couple minutes and you are connected straight away.

I recommend to buy an MTC sim card for your trip to Namibia over Telecom. They have a much bigger and better network.

  1. Epic!!! Keep making videos! I recommend checking out PromoSM!!! It’s the fastest way to grow your channel!!

  2. Hi, I’m flying into Hosea Kutako airport from the UK in 2 weeks and wondered if it’s possible to get WiFi before passport control, in case say I need to show any digital docs. My current network charges a huge rate for data in Namibia and searching across the internet I can’t find a SIM card that you can buy before getting to Namibia that isn’t extremely expensive for data.

Any advice is appreciated, I’ll really only need data before passport control as I’m wary there is an MTC kiosk in the airport

  3. Thanks for sharing the video. I will visit Namibia for a selfdrive tour in 2 week. I wanna know if MTC has signal in the dessert as well? We will do the selfdrive tour trip and don't plan to rent a GPS. Can you use the google map since, you mention in your blog: at places like Sossusvlei, Deadvlei, Namib Desert, Skeleton Coast, Fish River Canyon and Etosha National Park I was happy with an E signal.
