Mt.Fuji travel guide (modified prince route: Houei-zan crater & Mt.Fuji peak at once) 2022 day2-1

Mt.Fuji travel guide (modified prince route: Houei-zan crater & Mt.Fuji peak, “Osuna-bashiri” at once) 2022 day2-1

Mt.Fuji is only available in the summer season (middle of July~ middle of September).
It takes a whole 2 days to climb up to the peak. (One day plan is too hard & difficult to access by public transport. It might be possible only for fully equipped and well-trained young people only.)

Mt.Fuji has 3 major places or entertainments. 1st one is the Kengamine peak (the top of Mt.Fuji), 2nd one is Houei-zan peak and crater (minor but interesting peak and crater stands in the middle of Mt.Fuji), 3rd one is “Osuna-bashiri”(running down the mountain with extreme speed on a fluffy gravel covered slope).
In this video, you can see how to achieve those 3 major points in 1 trip. If you clear this course, you can say “I’ve cleared Mt.Fuji mostly”.

The route I chose is called “Prince route”. Prince route is a mixture of “Fujinomiya route” & “Gotemba route” taking good points of these 2 routes.

(Accending Prince route)
Start from Fujinomiya-5th trail station, and Climb up “Fujinomiya route” to Houeizan crater and peak. Then switch to “Gotemba route” and keep this track until the Kengamine peak.

(Descending Prince route)
Climb down “Gotemba route” from the peak to Gotemba-5th trail station.

(Descending route of this video)
I modified Ordinary descending “Prince route” a little bit.
Climb down “Fujinomiya route” from the peak to mountain cabin Ikeda-kan.Then traverse to “Gotemba route” and keep this track until Gotemba-5th trail station.
