  1. This is amazing news! However… it's not good news for me and my friend, as we're leaving to visit Japan in less than a week, meaning we will still have to provide the annoying COVID paperwork.

  2. i leave my country on May 8th and arrive to Japan on May 9th. will i still have to deal with the covid policy?

  3. People can also be wearing masks becauses they're immmune compromised and still vulnerable to COVID. It's still a pandemic and still killing people after all.

  4. Good news. I'm planning to visit in September but will probably still wear a mask on the trains.

  5. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss for covid requirements…. except for the masks.. i like them, make me feel safe

  6. We were just there in March. Very glad that the Covid entry requirements are going away. That takes away a stress from the entry process. I do think they should keep Japan Web in place for the rest of the process. It made the entry quick and easy after we landed.

  7. Thank god!!! I have a trip in June. I always wanted to go to japan and sold my house to go. So its very important and I was scared I would fail the COVID test before my trip. Now I don't have to be scared of failing a test or getting a false positive.

  8. This is great news, but they would be dropping the COVID requirements the day AFTER I'm flying into the country lol

  9. This is great news for future travelers!!! I had a blast for the 3 weeks i spent my time in Japan last month. The food. The hospitality. The sights. I haven't missed them quite yet because they're all still fresh in my head. But i'm excited for everyone to go without any restrictions. My advice for those going on or after the day they drop the requirements: BE PREPARED for the tourism boom.

  10. Wow! This is happiest news, but do they just change the policy on one day on covid matters or they won't changed it anymore? Hi, new subscribers from Indonesia.

  11. Just arrived back from a month in Japan. Masks were still huge everywhere. You got a break when you were sitting down and eating. Tourism was slow for our time in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Sapporo and surrounding areas. With the restrictions being eased I’m sure things will pick up. We were lucky to have the place relatively to ourselves.

  12. Thanks for the update! I just got back from Japan and was really happy that it didn't feel crowded. I have a feeling that it will be super crowded with tourists after May 8 so good luck!

  13. Just came back from Japan on 3rd April the day the japanese government made the annoucement that Harblife mentioned. I do see more people not wearing masks outdoors but indoor while not a noticeable drop in numbers of mask wearing people.
As for the crowds, sorry to say that I felt that the tourist hotspots of akihabara and ginza and ueno parks were still crowded, though lesser than my previous visit in dec 2019.

  14. Living in Bangkok where masks are still used everywhere especially in the transit system. This is no big deal. πŸ™ Leave on 10 May and was going to get my third shot next week but I guess I don’t need it anymore.πŸ‘πŸ‘

  15. I’ve been in Japan for 3weeks now and I stop wearing a mask. But I think wearing one on the train would be a good idea. Had someone in the train not wearing mask and coughing at me face and now I got the flu. Luckily it’s not Covid.

  16. very useful infomations. good job great work. and please continue for the updates

  17. Your updates are great. Just to let you know that we had breakfast at Shinpachi Shokudo on our first day. We loved it so much we went back for lunch the next day.❀

  18. kind of a weird one for me. i fly out to japan on the 7th may but arrive on the 8th, will i still need a negative pcr test?

  19. Can't believe it πŸ˜… a year ago I wouldn't have thought , here we are , I wore a mask a fair bit on my trip but it was cold , good times are here πŸŽ‰

  20. Too late for me. I’m coming on the 22nd of this month. So still have to present vaccination documentation. But still good news mate! Thank you so much!

  21. I was SO worried because the 2 jabs I had were not WHO valid and I didn't want to get more. This is a BLESSING! Traveling on May 15!!!

  22. I go to Japan May 11th so woohoo!! I already filled out the COVID vaccine form on the Japan website and reluctantly got my 3rd booster shot bc I needed it πŸ’€ but oh well!! 😭
