Commerce Street is a major east-west thoroughfare in downtown Dallas, Texas, USA. It runs from west to east through the heart of downtown, connecting the West End Historic District to Deep Ellum, and beyond to East Dallas and Garland.
Commerce Street is named for the fact that it was once the city’s primary commercial and business district, with a concentration of department stores, banks, and other businesses. Along Commerce Street, visitors can find many notable landmarks and attractions, including the Dallas World Aquarium, the Majestic Theatre, and the iconic Pegasus sign atop the Magnolia Hotel. Other notable buildings on Commerce Street include the historic Adolphus Hotel, the Mercantile National Bank Building, and the Comerica Bank Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the city.
Commerce Street is also a major transportation hub in downtown Dallas, with several DART light rail stations and bus stops located along the street. The street is well-known for its bustling energy and vibrant nightlife, with numerous bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues scattered throughout the area.
