For 70 years, the Sapporo Snow Festival has taken place in the Hokkaidō capital’s Ōdōri Park. This year’s festival features snow sculptures of virtual pop singer Hatsune Miku, thoroughbred racing horses, and Japanese pro tennis player Ōsaka Naomi, among many others. Digital tech like projection mapping, illumination, and AR make the sculptures even more striking and interactive.
